Romantic and Fun Inn

The porches add a fun dimension to a very romantic Inn. Rooms are large and filled with lovely antiques. Breakfast is delicious and includes fresh fruit and/or vegetables in season. Bruce's artwork will make you smile. Jan puts tremendous effort into providing guests with a memorable experience. Her tours are fun and a great educational experience. Looking forward to the Paranormal weekend in October.

Perfection and Peace

Dear Jan and Bruce - What do we call perfection! You've achieved your dream of beautiful hospitality. Loving care for your guests and a wonderful gourmet breakfast experience. Every touch, from rolled down bedding at night, a touch of chocolate, creative decorating, amazing humorous art, a table set with uniqueness. It reminded me of my English Nana. After three days at the Boston Marathon, two days with friends in Massachusetts, two days with friends in Connecticut and another two days with friends in New Hope, we finally arrived here. 'a haven for healing, a place like home'. Thank you so much. P.S. If only we had more time, we would have loved to play all the games available, read all the book, and researched all your flyers about the happenings in the area.

Perfect

This was our first bed & breakfast experience. On this trip, besides myself, were my mother and 13 yr old daughter. My daughter was turning 13 on the day of our arrival, so we were there to celebrate her birthday with a bed & breakfast and to see Joseph at Sight & Sounds (which was an awesome show, by the way) The Artist's Inn is soo cozy, we felt at home from the moment we walked in the door. Jan & Bruce are just the most pleasant people and they made this stay extra special by adding special touches for my daughter's birthday. My mother was thrilled with the antiques throughout the Inn and it seemed to have brought back some good memories for her. The rooms are all very nicely decorated, the pictures just dont do it justice. And you do hear the clip clopping of horses going down the street!! Breakfast was.........superb, elegant. Jan is an excellent cook. Jan & Bruce are a very classy couple. The entire stay was wonderful and next time, oh yes there will be a next time, I will be bringing my hubby.

Romantic Garden Suite

My husband and I have just returned from our 23rd visit in 3 years to this romantic inn. Each stay has been in the Garden Suite because it is so comfortable, beautiful and romantic. We can hear the clip-clop of horses' hooves as we snuggle into the king-size bed. This suite has its own private covered porch and I love to go onto it at dawn and see the mist in the valley below as the sun rises slowly over the farmland. Wonderful breakfast scents tantalize in the morning as they tease your senses when you open your door to the hallway in the morning. I must make a reservation so I can plan for our 24th romantic visit to this very special inn.

Room at the Inn for Aussies

Our long term interest in the Amish and Mennonite Christian tradition brought us from Australia to Lancaster County for a week. We needed an Inn! Our expectations were exceeded many times over. The hospitality of Jan and Bruce was outstanding. Innkeeper Jan was invariably happy, accommodating, generous and willing to help our interests and itinerary - perhaps 'unfazed' is the word I am looking for. Jan went to a great deal of trouble to helping us track down people to helping us pat mules! - now that is something else! Jan's home cooked 'every day a new delight' breakfast menu is just fantastic. Jan even keeps a record of our menus so that next time we will not eat the same menu, unless requested. The delicious breakfasts also meant dollars in the bank as lunch was never needed. Location is marvellous as it is 5 minutes off the busy tourist thoroughfares and so gives rest and yet all is near when required. Administration, service and web were all accurate, clear and helpful. We have stayed in many fine B&Bs in many countries and The Artists Inn is our number 1 - enjoy it! Thank you to Jan and her gifted husband - artist with picture and pen, imbued with a wry spirit of humor and self-reflection that brings forth our laughter and knowing nod to wisdom expressed. Thank you, Jan and Bruce. God bless you and all your guests. PS The Artist's Inn is romance personified.

Charming romantic pace of life

My boyfriend and I were looking for a reprieve from the stress of the city. We found that and so much more at this serene country getaway nestled in the heart of Amish farmlands. We stayed in the most romantic room, The Garden Suite. Furnished with a gorgeous king sized bed, antique wardrobe and dresser sink. A private balcony offered stunning views of the surrounding farms and perfect privacy. The most extraordinary feature of The Garden Suite was the spa like bathroom. An immaculate two person soaking tub/jacuzzi, a separate shower equipped with three massaging jets, a gas fireplace....yes, you read that correctly a fire place in the bathroom, and a day bed straight out of Anne of Green Gables...yes ,a bed/lounging couch in the bathroom. I will never forget sleepily stretching out on that daybed one misty rainy morning in front of the fireplace while watching the Amish buggy s clip clop past one of the two sunken windows. It was like being transported in time. What a unique and precious rare experience topped off with a comforting soak in the tub. This room will pamper and spoil you! The best of of The Artist's Inn and Gallery was Jan. Warm and friendly, attentive yet unintrusive, she is the ideal host and concierge. One could stumble into the inn with only wishes and Jan could make them realities. I myself came to her door in such a state after my plans fell apart and Jan whisked up a perfectly tailored itinerary indulging us for the next two days. What a relief! She is a God send. I believe her to have the reputation of dealing with any request a guest may have, no matter how strange, relying on an extensive list of contacts with local merchants and service providers. What a pleasant day, wondering amongst the treasures of the antique malls in Adamstown and the local Mennonite garden nursery of her suggestion. She even provided us with coupons for the Tanger Outlet Stores in Lancaster which was only 30 minutes away! Breakfast was sublime coming in five courses and presented in candle light. In warmer weather one may eat al fresco on the adjourning porch. I had requested a casual, bare bones breakfast which Jan provided featuring some of the local fresh fruits and vegetables yet she still spoiled us with slices of sour cream chocolate cake from a local birthday party which her and her husband Bruce attended the night before! Yum! :) If you are looking to experience the calm pace of a bygone era or to get away with that special someone (including your girlfriends, your daughter or Grandma) the answer is The Artist's Inn and Gallery. Jan and Bruce will take care of you.

Jan & Bruce Set the Bar High!

My husband surprised me with a visit to the Inn for our 18th anniversary. He could not have made a better choice. Jan and Bruce are the perfect hosts with warm conversation, excellent service, plenty of assistance when it came to information about the area, suggestions of places to visit, and directions. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The gourmet breakfasts Jan prepared were scrumptious with so much offered it was easy to overindulge. Jan went above and beyond when we arrived back at the inn after a celebratory dinner out and found our bed turned down for the evening with delicious homemade chocolates and a complimentary bottle of chilled champagne. Our stay was, to say the least, delightful. We hope to return again soon.

We loved everything about the inn

Jan and Bruce made us feel right at home the minute we arrived at the inn. The breakfasts were food from the gods! The chocolate chip scones were as light as air and the poached pears were heaven. After a meal at the inn you did not need to eat a lunch . Our room was very clean and the bed reminded me of my grandmothers feather bed-one just sinks into it. The inn makes you feel so relaxed and the time you spend there just goes by too quickly. Before you even depart you are already making plans to come again.
