Description

Circa 1780. This 18th-century inn offers pure New England elegance. The historic home, surrounded by a plentiful six acres, rests on The Common in this charming historic village. The grounds include a duck pond, fountain and gardens- a perfect setting for the many parties and weddings held at the inn. The guest rooms are decorated in a warm, inviting style, many feature stencilled walls or country artwork. The innkeepers serve made-to-order breakfasts and an opulent afternoon tea. The staff will gladly help you plan a day trip to enjoy the charm of the surrounding village and nearby places of interest.

*14 days prior to stay for refund. All cancellations have a $25 bookkeeping charge. *30 day cancellation for Wedding & Room Blocks, as well as Peak Weekends. **Dartmouth Graduation has a 10% cancellation fee, non-refundable after January of Graduating year.

Get out of the City

A Weekend away from the City

This has been a great chance to catch up with my kids, who are so busy with school and career plans; the quiet and distance from the city is a tonic in any weather. Plus breakfast and afternoon treats!

Feels like home

The Dowds' Country Inn feels like home. The staff is lovely, there is tea and sweets served everyday and it just has that homey feel. I loved my stay here. Thank you."

we love it all!

We are visiting a son who rented a place on Reservoir Pond. We enjoyed our stay in the inn very much and have been taken with the are, kayaking, fishing, hiking. That NE changeable weather - we love it all! Thanks for the low-key, friendly atmosphere and great breakfast.

Refreshing

The only reason we are leaving is the house is booked for a wedding. The breakfast is awesome and the rest is refreshing. The hunt for Smith ancestors and relatives continues.
