Description
Circa 1789. Considered the state's oldest inn, warm hospitality has been continuously offered at this classically stately house since 1789. Main Street is peacefully seen from the columned front porch. Converse by the fire in the common room. A historic integrity and ambiance is reflected throughout each Colonial guest bedroom. The Rufus Porter Room boasts an original hand painted mural from the 1820s. Some of the spacious rooms feature four-poster beds, gas fireplaces, sitting areas and deep soaking tubs. The sunny Garden Room is an enchanting setting for a resplendent breakfast with fruits, yogurt, granola, cereals, fresh-baked pastries and hot entrees. Award-winning and often-requested dinner recipes are served in the fireside Dining Room.
