Morning Garden Frittata

Morning, yes, but also delightful anytime, and sooo good for you. This recipe uses 6 eggs, but only one egg yolk, (an 83% reduction in fat); plus fat-free and reduced-fat cheeses. Of course, it can be done with whole eggs and regular cheese.

Always a treat!

We go every year! Katie and George are excellent innkeepers. I enjoy the house and they keep the food tasty, but most of all we just enjoy talking to Katie and George!

Wonderfully Charming...

I must admit, my husband and I had never spent a night at a bed and breakfast. We had originally looked into renting a cabin in this area. But found none. So we booked "The Loft" due to they offered bringing breakfast to your door if you stayed in that suite. Upon arriving everyone seemed to arrive at the same time. And they handled it wonderfully...offering us beverages. George and Katie were just amazing! We loved hearing George's stories and just how his thoughts on the day to day things were. That we ended up opting for eating breakfast with everyone come morning. Figuring we could eat breakfast in our own loft the next morning if it wasn't our thing. This was NOT the case. We enjoyed ourselves and the stories and getting to know everyone. [And the food! My goodness mouth watering delicious.]I must say if I could bottle up what Katie and George have in personalities and stories and sprinkle them around our dinning room table for meals I would have. They made our stay all the more memorable...And "the loft" was charming as well as the inn that we enjoyed having a look around in. I can not possibly word how much this time away with them in their inn touched us. Will we be back again...ABSOLUTELY! We bought one of their books that has recipes in it as well as stories that makes one think back to the inn keepers and their wonderful spirit...I seen a sign that stated..."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art." by Eleanor Roosevelt And indeed this holds true with the inn keepers Katie and George. They were beautiful people that I feel blessed to have met. And as for the bed...we contemplated how to manage tying it down to the roof of the jeep with the pillows tossed in back. Comfort beyond compare! But at last...we ended up leaving it for the next time we visit.

Kudos

Hi, I wanted to give feedback about experience at The Inn at Brandywine Falls. George and Katie Hoy, the owners are a lovely couple with a real touch for hospitality. My 15 year old son and I usually go camping on New Year's Eve, but for many reasons we couldn't keep our usual plans. We had hoped to stay in Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the Inn is situated beautifully within the national park, right next to a beautiful waterfall! The home was absolutely beautiful and Katie and George made us feel right at home. My son can be a little shy and the whole idea of being at the Inn was, at first, uncomfortable for him. Yet, George and Katie welcomed Ryan into each and every conversation as there were only adults at the Inn, my son wouldn't have attempted to join the conversation. My son told me later that they had made his stay extra special. I was delighted by the warmth of this couple. I truly felt like part of their family. Kudos to George and Katie Hoy. Great atmosphere, excellent conversation, fantastic food (VEGAN OPTIONS!) and situated in a beautiful national park. Colleen Schemrich Ohio

Great Inn

George & Katie Hoy are great host! We stayed two nights. Great breakfests. My wife enjoyed reading George & Katie's book so much that she purchased a book in which George wrote a poem and signed

Best Inn I have ever stayed in

My wife Rhonda and I have stayed in many inns over the years, both domestically and overseas and we have NEVER had as wonderful a time as we did staying with George and Katie. You get the feeling as soon as you check in that this is going to be special. George is concerned about luggage "smudge" on the walls and he insists in carrying your too large wheeled bag up the narrow stairs to the upstairs by himself. Given that George is 82, (you would never guess it) this in itself, is unusual. Once you realize that this is George and Katie's HOME, you realize why he cares. Most of the furniture are genuine antiques and George will tell you in no uncertain terms to use the coaster, don't bring cooler into you room (at least in the main house rooms, and be careful with food. Once you realize this is a home, not a hotel, you feel happy to comply. From that point on, we felt like we were staying with our folks for a visit..our folks who were REALLY happy we came to stay. If you want a hotel, stay at one. If you want to pet their dog, Louie, talk to their 2 pygmy goats (Bedlam and Chaos,) and pet their outdoor cats (whose names escape me)..and feel like you really are a friend in a guest house, come to George and Katie's. The breakfast was wonderful..real breakfast...stuffed blueberry french toast, Katie's swiss cheese scramble, blackberry fruit dish with berries from the garden to the side of the old farm property, and George's pasta carbonara for breakfast..yes for breakfast...It was wonderful. George will tell you it's bacon and eggs with toast..the toast is the angel hair pasta. This is a 150+ year old farmstead that is authentically restored Is this a romantic getaway...when you realize that George and Katie have been married for over 60 years, and their love for each other is so genuine and present, you may feel this is the most romantic vacation you have ever had. We're in our 50's, married over 20 years, and felt like we were on a second honeymoon. As an aside..The Cuyahoga River National Park is adjacent to the Inn as well as the Brandywine Creek waterfalls. The park boasts an old Erie Canal "towpath" converted to a bike path that runs from Cleveland to Akron. This can be a great family attraction. You may also want to check out a restaurant called "Downtown 140" located in Hudson Ohio (about 6 milse from the Inn. "140" has, in my opinion, the best food between Chicago and New York. Don't believe me? Only one way to know for sure! Charles O.

WONDERFUL!!!!

Wonderful!! The Inn at Brandywine Falls Doug and Susan and Jack from Westerville, OH. This was our first experience at a Bed and Breakfast. It was wonderful! George and Katie are wonderful hosts! They took care of ALL of the details. They made us feel so welcomed and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing. A royal feast. George and Katie have enriched our lives by just one visit. The location is right by Brandywine Falls. A beautiful scenery. This is a treasure here in Ohio! We will return again, hopefully more than once.

InnSide Tip - Wonderful!!!
Peninsula is a small town only 4 miles away. You can rent bikes and go on the Towpath then take a train ride back for only $2 per person. A wonderful experience.

the warm feeling of home

Well for Christmas i purchased the gift certificate for a one night stay at the Inn for my Wife Marianne. We decided to use the certificate over the spring break this year it was late March. We arrived at the Inn on Thursday afternoon and we were greeted at the door by Louie hes is such a gentile dog and friendly. We went in and met Katie and George Hoy the Innkeepers, they offered us a glass of wine we sat in the kitchen and chatted for a while,as more guest started to arrive, George then carried our bags and showed us to our room. We went out to dinner and returned and sat in the kitchen had cookies and chatted with the other guests and George and Katie, we then turned in for the night a very comfortable room and good night. We woke and had a wonderful breakfast and spent some time talking with the others. We packed our stuff to head for home. And for sure we will be back again. Thank you for a great time Lenny and Marianne

Overrated

My wife and I have been to over a hundred B&Bs in the US and Europe and were excited to visit this one after reading a few very positive reviews. However, we were somewhat disappointed by the lack of charm and comfort in the room and common areas, but most importantly by the extremely high price. The location within the National Park was nice but the proximity to I-271 did produce some minor traffic noise. Breakfast was execllent and very convivial.

Romantic

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon since we didn't have a lot of money to go on vacation. The experience was wonderful. Very peaceful and romantic. The breakfast in bed was delicious. Would definitely stay again!!!

Romancing the Falls

This is by far my favorite Bed and Breakfast in the United States! George and Katie are warm and loving Inn keepers that are characters of their own! They have such interesting stories, they could entertain for hours! But, with so much to do..there never seems to be enough time to delight in all they have to tell! As for the inn...it is unique and charming, warm and inviting, and sooo romantic. With the falls playing like a never ending soundtrack, the mood always seems right for a little romance! Might I suggest the loft or granary...by far my favorite places to stay! As for things to do..hiking, horseback riding, even sleigh rides are within walking distance. I would give this establishment and the inn keepers a 5 star plus rating!

Great stay!

Our stay was amazing! The location was super convenient for the coolest parts of the park and the hosts were very accomodating. Being fairly introverted, having fresh breakfast set up for us in our rooms was amazing and probably one of my favorite parts of our stay. The innkeeper cat Mittens also made sure to give a warm welcome!
