Description
The grand Victorian estate sits amidst gardens and ponds in the heart of the Iowa Great Lakes. Guests strolling along the path may be treated to the songs of bullfrogs, the impressive nests of osprey, or deer frolicking in the oak grove. Each of the 11 guest rooms boasts a king or queen bed, romantic fireplace, flat screen television, microwave, and refrigerator; many rooms feature a whirlpool tub and a veranda or patio. Guests can become part of the family as they enjoy a gourmet continental breakfast each morning; the coffee is a special roast provided by the innkeeper's cousin and family stories can be told about the featured vintage family recipes. The inn is the perfect home base for visiting nearby wineries, museums, antique shops, and theaters.

Due to The Oakwood Inn's intimate size, any cancellations affect us significantly. Consequently, we adhere to a strict cancellation policy. Your deposit will be refunded if we receive notification more than 14 days prior to your arrival. If for any reason you cancel your stay within 14 days, deposits are not refunded. Cancelling less than 48 hours in advance, early departures and no-shows will be responsible for fees equaling the entire stay. A 90-day cancellation notice is required on whole house bookings and for some special events. |
