Description
Circa 1837. For nearly two centuries, this three-story brick inn has graced historic Plymouth Street. The interior has been meticulously restored and maintains its early 19th-century ambiance. The restoration effort included repairing brick parts of the inn with bricks that came from an Ohio house more than 30 years older than the inn. Exposed beams, refurbished wood floors and period decor and furnishings adorn the interior. Original fireplaces still showcase color tile. The inn's restaurant offers a variety of dinner specials served in a room with authentic Federal-style decor. Guests might start off with clam chowder or an appetizer of baked Brie. As an entree, guests might choose rainbow trout, shrimp scampi or maybe a hearty porterhouse or New York strip steak.
