Description

Circa 1856. Tucked against a forested hillside, this inn is comprised of a combination of buildings from an 1856 homestead to a 1930s cottage, and the more recent 1969 and 1996 inn that offers views of the ocean from each room. The ten acres also include an expansive lawn studded with flower gardens that slope down to a duck pond and redwood barn where the inn's llamas and horses graze. Guest bedrooms and suites feature four-poster beds, wood-burning fireplaces and watercolors and paintings by local artists. Complimentary Mendocino wines are offered.

Describe Garden and Grounds

Site of Big River Nurseries, a California Certified Organic Farm (USDA). Produce and fruit are havested almost daily for use in the restuarant as are herbs. Landscaping is organically grown as well, but not necessarily edible as the deer would eat it too.
