"A SAFE REFUGE FROM THE STORM"
WE HAD TO LEAVE OUR HOME, AND POSSESSIONS, AND COME TO
TEXAS, TO GET AWAY FROM THE HURRICANE, THAT PROMISED TO
DESTROY EVERYTHING WE OWNED. EIGHT OF US STAYED IN THIS
BEAUTIFUL BED & BREAKFAST, FOR A WEEK. THE INN KEEPER
WOULD NOT LET US PAY HER ANYTHING FOR OUR STAY. WE WERE
GIVEN THE KEYS TO HER HOME, AND WE LOVED STAYING THERE,
AND IT GAVE US SOME KIND OF PEACE, EVEN THOUGH WE WERE
NOT SURE WHAT WE WOULD RETURN TO. WE WERE A LUCKY FEW,
WHO DID NOT SUSTAIN A LOT OF DAMAGE. "WE LOVE TEXAS, AND
WE LOVE TEXAS PEOPLE", AND WE WILL NEVER FORGET OUR STAY.
THE INNKEEPER SAID SHE WOULD NEVER FORGET US, AS WE
LEFT AS GREAT FRIENDS, WITH A PROMISE TO RETURN TO VISIT
SOMEDAY.
