We'll be back!
Owner Sarah is the most charming hostess I have ever encountered, and the hotel is impeccably-kept. Guests needs, both commonplace and individual, are anticipated and tended to with easy swiftness. Never have we felt more pleased with our lodgings. The rooms are spacious and gorgeous; the beds, a sea of perfect comfort. There is the charm of a small coastal town, the elegance of a beautifully restored mansion, the tranquility of natural outdoor beauty streaming in through the giant windows, and pleasant society in the drawing and dining rooms. We meant to only stay for a night, but couldn't bring ourselves to leave until we absolutely had to!

Wonderful find!
We stumbled upon The Tipsy Butler quite by accident during
an unscheduled portion of a recent vacation. What a
delight! Beautifully decorated rooms, a comfortable bed that
is very hard to leave in the morning, a wide array of movies
available in the DVD library, and a very yummy breakfast made
to order. All this within walking distance of delightful
local shops and restaurants. And the best part of all are
hosts Sarah and Tony who couldn't have made us feel more
welcome (and we didn't even have a reservation!) We'll
now be looking for reasons to return to this beautiful area
of Maine--and when we do, The Tipsy Butler will definitely
be a part of our plans.

we love it here!
we have stayed here several times, winter and summer. Sarah and Tony always make us feel welcome, remember what we and our kids like, and make us feel at home. Rooms are beautifully done, and common areas are lovely, as well. Easy to get to, close to many popular sites. we love it here!

A must return
We just happened to see their sign, loved the name, and stopped in without a reservation What a warm and friendly reception! The innkeepers went out of their way to make our stay perfect! They thought of every extra touch! Sarah's British humor was an absolute highlight. For Sarah from Kevin: does the food still look as good? The room was cozy with lots of attention to details. The location offered lots of quaint local shops, including a great yarn shop, within walking distance across the bridge in Damariscotta. Close to Boothbay Harbor for great coastal driving and stops. If you are anywhere close to Newcastle-Damariscotta head for The Tipsy Butler! Well worth it!
