Nice location and grounds, but...

The room itself was fair, though things seemed a bit run down. Our two biggest complaints were the smell and the breakfast. The hallway and stairway smelled as though something had died and decayed under the carpet. Fortunately the smell wasn’t in the room. The breakfast consisted of hot water in a coffee pot, packages of instant oatmeal, a very poor showing of pastry and hard-boiled eggs that we were unable to peel. The grounds were beautifully maintained, and the view of the river from the room was great. The restaurant may be their main focus, but we didn't try it due to the negatives already mentioned.
