What's Green About Your Inn

We don't like shampoo and conditioner in those silly little bottles so you will have big bottles of that kind of stuff, for your use, in your bathrooms. We recyle most everything we are able to, except glass. And we are on a septic system and that works like a charm.

Describe Garden and Grounds

The grounds are generally broad lawn areas which stretch toward a stream bed of tall grasses in the fall. Beyond that there is a historic, open air log barn and several old outbuildings. There are beautiful perennial flower beds meandering in differing areas containing flowering plants that are suitable for that particular cottaqe garden location. There are free range chickens that roam at will.

Historic Interest

Built in 1897 for his Indian bride Lucy, Fred Peterson supported a large dairy herd using several barns, chicken coops, worker/"hand" house and bunkhouse which still remain on the property. In the early 1900s, the home also served as the Woodland Post Office. In the mid '70s an addition was added to the house for the area's Justice of the Peace office.
