We love this place!
A great getaway for us and only 50 miles from home. the food is terrific, the cabins are rustic and cozy, the food is wonderful and there are a million great hikes within miles of the resort.

Warm in the snow
We spent 4 days at Sorenson's over the holidays. Our cabin was cozy and clean. The bed was comfortable. It was wonderful to have a kitchen. The gas stove kept the cabin warm. The staff was extremely helpful, and breakfast our last day was great. We really enjoyed the unique Gingerbread houses on the dining room tables.
The location was great for cross-country skiing and the sauna provided welcome warmth and muscle-relaxing (and a fun way to meet other guests).
We look forward to another stay.

Very Welcoming
In one night's stay, I felt more comfortable, relaxed, and welcome than any vacation my 47 years have allowed. Thank you for the happiness you have given my children.

Just what the doctor ordered
My wife, Karen, Dog Charlotte and I spent two wonderful nights at Sorensen's resort recently. We stayed on Sunday, June 17th and Monday, June 18th my wife's birthday. We'd stayed there 3-4 times before over the past 10 years. This time was one of the most memorable. The owner John and his wife greeted us upon our arrival. Allowed us to check in early. Remembered our names throughout the stay and let us know of the possibilities of bears in the resort. We actually spotted one outside our cabin one morning. Charlotte scared it away. John was most appologetic about the incident. I said no worries it added icing to the cake of our visit. I greatly appreciated how they were trying to deal with the bear issue in as humane a way as possible. Food was great at the restaurant. We also ended up on a great hike up to Winnemuca (sp?) lake from Carson Pass on 88. THe worst part of the whole stay was pulling away on our trip home. The well worn chairs at the foot of the bed in the Sheephearders Cabin was my parking spot during down time. It was more like I was staying at my Uncle John and Aunt Patty's cabin then a resort. A true home away from home. We can't wait to return.

Sorensen's Resort is the place to stay if you are looking for a clean and comfortable accommodations, great food and a lovely atmosphere. There is hiking, fishing and just enjoying the flora and fauna of the valley. If you are looking for action too, South Tahoe is only 20 minutes away. Try it out and you will come back like we have in the past and will again next year!
