Number One Romantic in my humble opinion

The Capt. Lord is in the Registry and is so very, very romantic. Beginning when you drive up the atmosphere lends to the romance. The rooms are tastefully appointed with period furniture, wall coverings and window treatments. Romantic CD's are available and flowers are in every room . We stay in the Oriental when we visit. The black and white tile bathroom floor is heated, the corner hot tub is perfect for two. The bed is fit for a king and queen. The friendly staff is always on hand. If they know it's a special occasion you might find a surprise waiting in your room. Morning breakfast is delicious and fresh coffee and cookies are available throughout the day. There is no such thing as a bad room in the mansion. I hope you have an opportunity to stay. It is clearly my #1 of romantic Inns.

showcase

A showcase of elegant architecture. Meticulously clean and splendidly appointed. It's a shame to have to leave.

Atrocious!

Rude owner whom made our experience, and that of his staff's, a miserable evolution indeed. I would not return to this establishment even if they offered a free week. One of the most mean-spirited individuals running Inns in the country today. DO NOT put yourself through the torture.

Best Inn Ever

My husband and I have stayed at the Captain Lord Mansion every year at Christmas Prelude time for almost 30 years. It is abolutely magical - 3 days of stress-free living in elegant, comfortable, spotlessly clean surroundings, with good food at breakfast, wonderful company in the other guests, and fabulous owners and staff who make those 3 days memorable. I have never had a bad experience, there, nor do I expect to. We are loyal visitors who found our "best inn ever" on our very first stay in a B&B/inn and have never been able to match the experience anywhere else in New England. I cannot remember a single instance where rudeness or unpleasantness was part of the experience. Ever!

Best Inn in the world

We stayed here on two seperate occasions and it was spectacular. The first time was in 1987 and the food was spectacular and the Inn was not only decorated amazingly, but it was so super clean. I can't find my old recipes from back than, and I would love to have her mushroom quiche recipe. To stay here is totally a treat beyond anything you will ever experience.
