Description

Circa 1804. This Federal-style home was given as a wedding gift from a father to his daughter and new son-in-law. It was constructed the same year Thomas Jefferson was re-elected to the presidency. Each guest room is different. Several offer two-person whirlpools, eight have a fireplace. Canopy, four-poster and sleigh beds are among the furnishings. In the afternoons, tea is served in the garden room. The breakfasts feature gourmet fare and are served by candlelight. The inn is located in a local historic district, just minutes from shops and restaurants.

Even more beautiful than expected.

This inn is exactly what you imagine when you think of the perfect New England Inn. Breakfast was delicious--probably the best I've ever had! The terrace room was lovely, even more beautiful than expected. The inn is in a perfect location, within walking distance of Dock Square.

All you'd want

This Inn exceeds all expectations of what a class act B&B should be. The breakfast delicious and recipe provided, the happy hour snacks nice and willingness to entertain our guests also, comfortable bed and luxurious sheets. The innkeeper was knowledgeable and communicative about the area, the people and places to visit. Lovely grounds, well maintained inn and convenient to shops and restaurants. It has it all.
