Funk, Fun Chez Palmiers
New Orleans is a city that offers a bit of everything and we have experienced high end hotels and small B&Bs. This trip was with our adult children and Chez Palmiers was perfect for us. Hosts, Schuyler and David have a restored cajun cottage appointed with an eclectic mix of memorabilia that allows you to get to know them from their travels and interests. They are gracious and warm and you at once feel like you are visiting friends in their home. Breakfast was offered in the dining room with a lovely assortment of fresh fruit, juices, yogurt, cheese, breads, coffee, and daily paper. Both breakfast and cocktails were enjoyed sitting on the deck by the pool sharing conversation and gaining valuable local information. The three guest rooms were ideal for our family.
The city has to be experienced on foot and the house is located between the French Quarter and the Faubourg Marginy, an area often overlooked and not to be missed. Walk and/or use the Taxis as there is not good parking and traffic is always congested. To sum it up, our 26 year old son said, "I'm sad to leave. I love this place."
Now is the time to visit New Orleans. The citizens have worked hard to put the city back in order and have done it with success and pride.

Amazing Weekend
My husband and I and our friends decided to stay here before our cruise. We stayed for 2 nights and we wish it was longer. Schuyler was in Ohio I believe visiting his mother. We were met by David. What an amazing host he is. He showed us around and told us about their home. This place is beautiful and full of history, as is the area,
Every morning when we got up, we had fresh brewed coffee. Breakfast was the best and so much variety. There was coffee~juices~yogurt~oatmeal(my favorite)~fresh fruit, even blood oranges from the trees out back~Fresh breads and pastries, so much variety and my husbands favorite, fresh assortment of cheeses. We loved taking our coffee out back and relaxing on the patio. It was beautiful and quiet.
The location is ideal. There is parking out front so that was never an issue. Since it was a great location, we spent both days there walking. We walked to the French Quarter. We pretty much spent the whole 2 days just walking around checking out the area. We got tips from David on where to go and what to do. I just wish we had more time to explore.
We are talking about going back and staying longer. We would stay at Chez Palmiers Bed and Breakfast again. The price was really cheap for what was offered. We stayed in the Loft Suite. It was like having an apartment of our own up there. Thank you so much David for sharing your beautiful home with us!
