Description

Circa 1872. Retreat to the romantic ambiance of this modified Greek Revival with a front gabled roof. Wicker furniture, a Victorian swing and wood rockers invite relaxation and conversation on one of the four porches. The inn still retains the original flooring, baseboards, molding and stairway, as well as being tastefully decorated with 1800s American Empire furnishings. A refrigerator in one of the common areas is stocked with complimentary beverages. Guest bedrooms are named after classic romantic poets and include a variety of pampering amenities. The spacious first-floor Browning Room features a private entrance, woodburning fireplace and double whirlpool. Strawberry Soup, Eggs Benedict in puff pastry and blueberry coffee cake are typical of a gourmet Southern breakfast served in the dining room. Schedule massages and body treatments at the day spa.

Wonderful weekend getaway!

We had the most wonderful weekend! The breakfast was excellent, and the location was perfect. Two minutes from historic downtown, with shopping, boat rides, carriage rides, and wonderful restaurants. The room was perfect - comfortable and relaxing. And the owner was so welcoming and friendly. Truely felt like a home away from home.
