Weekend Getaway

I had been planning to surprise my wife so I tried looking for something that we have not done before but is just nearby. That's how I found the murder mystery dinner at Stone Lion Inn. It was different. Acting and dressing up is not my thing, but I enjoyed it with my wife. I also like the room that we got. It was the Egyptian room. It was painted beautifully, but had no shower. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and I'm glad we tried doing it.

Great Evening out with friends

I have been several times to the Stone Lion Inn for the Murder Mystery/Dinner. I have thoroughly enjoyed each time I have gone. The staff is wonderful, all the guest are friendly and the food is great. I especially enjoy spending the night there and breakfast the next morning is just as entertaining.

Romantic Mystery Bed & Breakfast

This was our first mystery dinner. We came for our anniversary, and stayed at the White Peacock in the French room. Loved the hot tub and the room was cute. Great hospitality at both the dinner and the bed and breakfast. The mystery story line was interesting. The folks who stayed in character all night really made it more memorable. The cook made a great dinner, and the hostess had everyone at ease. The owner told us some humorous and interesting stories about the house at breakfast. Overall a fun experience.

Charming!!!

We had a great time at the murder mystery dinner and a wonderful night away from the house. I have never wanted to stay at a bed and breakfast because of my perception of limited privacy and I shared that with the staff member that arranged our stay. She put us in a little two story house with beautiful antiques that was completely private and less than a half mile from Stone Lion Inn, it was wonderful ! We had a nice romantic night away from home plus we meet some fun people :)

Murder Mystery Weekend

My husband and I visited the Stone Lion Inn this past weekend. We had a blast! The staff is amazing, the food is delicious and the room was beautiful. We stayed in the Bordello room. Breakfast the next morning was the perfect end to a great experience. The owner, Becky, sat with us while we ate and told us stories of the house, etc. We enjoyed every minute. We will definitely be going back and suggest anyone that has the opportunity to go to go for it! You won't be disappointed!

Amazing Experience

I recently had the opportunity to become a completely new person and step back in time for a murder mystery dinner at The Stone Lion Inn. This was a wonderful experience from the moment I stepped foot in the door! My friends and I had a fabulous time acting out our parts and solving the "Whodunit." The food was AMAZING!! The staff were pleasant and helpful. My overnight stay was more than I expected. If you ever get the chance to stay at The Stone Lion Inn, please do not think twice about it, and of course, you need to experience the murder mystery dinner as well (it is an added bonus)!

Anniversary

My husband and I recently attended the murder mystery at the Stone Lion inn for our Anniversary. It was a lot of fun and a chance to meet an array of new people. The mystery was well put together, the food was great and the company and at times entertainment, even better. I would love to go again and hopefully my husband won't be sick this time. Even though he ended up with pneumonia by Sunday, he said he had a good time and he was very hesitant to go at all. We did not stay at the Stone Lion, but had a nice little spot to ourselves at The Red Brick and Roses. We did get to tour the house, all levels, after breakfast the next morning. We would like to go back and actually stay at the Stone Lion in the future, but will definitely be back for another murder mystery.

Incredibly Entertaining

My husband, brother and sister in laws and I all attended the Murder Mystery Dinner and stayed overnight at a sister property of the Stone Lion Inn. It was one of the most entertaining evenings we have had in years. The food was delicious, the plot and story line well written and the property was beautiful. I highly recommend the Stone Lion Inn!

Best Halloween Ever

Our small group had a wonderful time at the Stone Lion' s Murder Mystery on Oct. 26, 2012! Anticipation of the evening added to the pleasure, and the build up of finding costumes and accessories for the roaring 20's ensured that our evening would be exciting. We got there a few minutes late and joined all of the participants in the parlor. It was so fun trying to figure out who each person's character was and how they would portray their assigned roles. Dinner was wonderful and served very efficiently. The young lady acting as the master of ceremonies was brilliant in maintaining her accent all evening. The programming was carried out by each participant and the amateur status of the players made each mad-cap recitation funny. It was a bit hard to hear some of the participants, but I chalked that up to stage fright. One part that I particularly enjoyed was when the women and men separated to make our gender divided decisions on who actually was the murder. We females quickly came to a decision, and then spent the remainder of our time admiring each other's costumes. At the conclusion of the evening, my husband and I and our friends stayed at the Red Brick and Roses cottage. We had the top floor while our friends had the bottem. Their bathroom was wonderful while ours was smallish, but we had an attached sitting room that was larger than the one in their suite and served as our gossip room. We had a great time and will definely go back!

really fun

My Husband and I attended the murder mystery alone. We had a good time. The fun really began when we set out to fine clothes in the Vintage shops around OKC and Edmond. We stayed in the Stone Lion Inn in the Bordello Room. The dinner and breakfast were excellent and I believe that our room was haunted as the door opened and closed itself many times during our over night stay. The best part was the play. I would encourage everyone to treat themselves to a happy and joyous weekend. Lynn W 11/09/12

Murder Mystery

I've always wanted to participate in a murder mystery and this was my first one. It did not disappoint. The mystery was interactive and included everyone. Finding an outfit to play my character was not hard or expensive. The food was great, and there was plenty. It was a blast. You need to give it a try.

Murder Mystery

This was our second visit to the Stone Lion Inn. It is a fantastic place and we really enjoy the shows that the owner writes. I know some people have said that they do not enjoy the story time at breakfast the next morning, but my husband and I love her storytelling. Even though this was the second time we were there, she told some stories that we had not heard before. You won't be disappointed!!! The actual dinner is good, not great, but good. Everyone is so friendly there!

GREAT date weekend!

What a great date getaway weekend! We went with a group of friends to the Stone Lion Inn and had a BLAST! It was so much fun! Rooms were so cute and antique, the house was amazing, service wonderful and food was excellent! I would recommend this to ANYONE who asked, and those who didn't ask, too! I would also recommend going with several couples if you can get that together because it made it so enjoyable! We will definitely go again!

We had a blast (from the past)

We decided to do the Murder Mystery as a late valentine's gift to each other, and we had so much fun dressing up and eating the super tasty food! The only thing is make sure you book early, this is a very popular activity and they do fill up reservations fast! If you've never done a murder mystery before or if you are an old hand at this, you will find the people who run the program to be very helpful and accomidating. The property is also extremely charming, with funky nicknacks and the air of a romantic historical past. I'm kind of a sap, but I thought that was really cute.

Having Fun as A Couple

Jerry & Lisann was the characters of Claus Marie Bordeux & Katrina Curare and my spouse and I hadn't been on a date night since he returned from over seas on military duty. We had been very busy after his return settling back into our lives we just didn't have very much time as a couple. Our relationship was and is good, but this event made it just that more fun and interesting! We were able to dress up and play a character of someone else in the time era of 1842 and we truly enjoyed the whole evening. The meal was to die for (punt intended - but actually scump-delicious)!!!!! We ate like royalty. Thank you Stone Lion Inn for bringing the spice back into an old couple like us! May 24 2013

Two co workers and myself attended The Stone Lion. The directions that were given to us were wrong and the road you take has no exits so we lost over a hour travel time. Upon arriving the yard and out side of the house had trash, one co worker who attended this years ago (10yrs) mentioned nothing had changed and no upgrades were made to the house, porch decorations would've been nice. No one greeted us at the door so we stood around for a little bit waiting. When the staff finally came out to us she wasn't the friendliest. Our room was cute but found trash in it as well. Playing the game and acting and meeting new people was fun! "Uta" was amazing. The food for dinner was really good but it wasn't anything fancy or expensive. There were a toooon of people who came and in such a small living room it got extremely hot and lasted the whole time plus there were over 60 clues so you get overwhelmed. When the killer was announced there was no way any of us would've guessed who it was since no more clues about said killer(s) were ever revealed during the game so a lot of us were bummed. The next morning breakfast was small and nothing special and I was still hungry, my other co workers didn't even finish their meal since it wasn't to tastey. The owner talked aaalot but she was funny and nice. It was nice getting to meet the other players and get to know them and discuss the game from last night. Hope this helps and hope some of the tid bits will be acknowledge and fixed as I plan on going again and have several others interested.

So Much Fun!

My husband and I attended the murder/mystery dinner for our 30 anniversary. We wanted to to stay overnight but all the rooms were taken so book early. The fun begins a couple weeks before when you get your packet and find out about your character and start putting your wardrobe together. I was a little apprehensive at first since there were so many people but then I realized we were all there for the same thing and that was to have a good time so you just let your hair down and go with it. I haven't laughed so hard in such a long time. The food and service was good and "Uta" was so entertaining. We will definitely do it again and recommend it highly.

1st Murder Mystery Dinner - GREAT

This was my first time attending a murder mystery dinner. 1st of all I would like to say the meal was excellent and we let the cook know multiple times. The event was fun and everyone was in costume and ready to roll. We got to meet lots of nice people, go to a cemetery, eat good food and solve a murder all while having fun. The staff was amazing and handled the group well. It seemed like everyone had fun...some had more than others.

Murder mystery = FUN!

We stayed aug 2 for my bday. It was super cool! I loved the nursery mystery. Being another character was awesome and being able to dress up so much better. The dinner was okay. Green chile soup was interesting, but green chile quiche was too much in the morning. Had to go to braums after bfast. The room was nice. It was a pleasant experience. Staff was wonderful!

Murder Mystery Dinner

This was the 2nd murder mystery for my daughter and I. We were not disappointed. We had so much fun participating in this event. The Elmer McCurdy mystery definitely is not your typical "family reunion." You never know what may happen. The dinner was great as always, thanks to Michelle. We also enjoyed breakfast the next morning as we listened to how the Stone Lion Inn came to existence. If you have not experienced a murder mystery you definitely need to go to the Stone Lion Inn Bed and Breakfast. I can't wait until the next one. Susan & Melissa A.

Fun Filled Adventure!

My husband and I stayed at the Stone Lion Inn 7/27/13 as a gift to each other for Valentine's day! We had such an amazing time with all of the other people that came, everyone dressed up and had some much fun being in character. We even had the pleasure of staying at the Peacock Inn where the owner says and chatting with her the night after our dinner! She is an amazing woman who takes great care of her visitors and I can't wait to go back! I have been telling all my friends they HAVE to go and check it out :) -Brittany Mungaven

A Wonderful Time

Recently, a friend and I visited the Stone Lion Inn and enjoyed the best murder mystery we have ever been to. We also decided to stay the night at their sister property, the White Peacock. Everything about this place was top-notch--from staff friendliness, to the quality of food, to the room appointments, to the level of sheer entertainment. This could be a perfect romantic getaway or a fun, inexpensive mini-vacation with friends. Try it out!

Great getaway at stone lion inn

My family took us there for mystery dinner and to spend night. Great fun, intertainment, and food. The cook was a terrific lady and did great job cooking. Place kept conversation going with house tours and haunting stories. Wonderful place

Date Night at the Stone Lion Inn

My husband and I participated in the murder mystery at the Stone Lion Inn on October 18, 2013 and had a fabulous time. The mystery was wonderful and the food was great. We stayed the night and the room was quite lovely and fitting to the atmosphere. We found out that next morning at breakfast that it is the room that guests usually experience some type of ghostly activity. I am glad that we found that out at breakfast and not dinner. We highly recommend the Stone Lion Inn for an extremely fun date night.

Murder Mystery Fun

We recommend the Murder Mystery Dinner at the Stone Lion Inn. The food and the service are very good. We did not stay overnight but may in the future. Would have liked to see the entire inn, but tours were reserved for overnight guests only.

Experience a Different Time

The Stone Lion Inn is a place that we cannot wait to return to as we leave each stay. We have been four times and every time is like an escape to a different time. We always have fun and enjoy ourselves. Our only complaint is that time seems to go too fast. The staff is amazing and always makes us feel at home. We cannot wait to return for another visit.

Fantastic way to spend an evening

Had a great evening of fun and super food. The staff was the best. Spent the night and the room was very unique, fun and clean. Had a great breakfast in the morning with fun stories of the history of the stone lion inn. Can't wait to go back.

Murder Mystery Fun

My husband and I love Guthrie, Oklahoma. We've been coming, shopping and spending weekend getaways in Guthrie for over ten years. All because of the Stone Lion Inn at Guthrie, OK. We fell in love with the Stone Lion Inn experience ten years ago and we plan on coming back for many more times. The food is delicious, the rooms are charming and unique and the staff is friendly and absolutely wonderful. All good reasons to come back. But none of them compare to the FUN that we have with the murder mysteries. They are so much fun that we have come for TEN murder mysteries and plan on coming December 2014 for our 11th visit. We've come with just ourselves, family and friends and never been disappointed. We LOVE you, Stone Lion Inn.

Stone Lion Inn July 26-27, 2014

This was the third murder mystery for my daughter and I. Once again we had a great time and the other guests were fun. We stayed in the Parlor Room. The bed was very comfy. Dinner and breakfast were both good. We always have a good time. Looking forward to the next murder mystery and maybe have a ghostly visit. I would recommend to persons who have trouble negotiating stairs to stay in the Parlor Room at the Stone Lion Inn. This B&B could be considered romantic getaway for a couple. Susan and Melissa

Excellent!

My wife and I went to a murder mystery dinner for her birthday and stayed at the White Peacock. The mystery was fun, although there was a lot of information you had to work with to try and solve it. The room we stayed in had an Egyptian theme and was very nice. The food was great too.

fun times at stone lion inn

I have done the murder mystery dinner several times and each time I have a great time. so yes I would do it again as I have in past . I finally got to do the one she does in October and was great . the host does a great job as well as then cook. I would say if you are planning on doing the dinner what makes it fun is when u really play up your part and act silly and have fun . more you get into your part the better it will be.

A great way to spend the eveing

What a great evening at the Stone Lion Inn. Dinner is excellent, the event for the evening is so much fun, the more you are into playing your part the more fun. I certainly enjoy spending the evening and then breakfast with a history of the inn. A delightful evening and I would do again

Romantic Mystery

Our first murder mystery experience and overnite stay at the Stone Lion was memorable and left us wanting more. The charm of an old B&B with some 30 people dressed in 40's wardrobe and assigned characters with a great hostess with her charm and foreign accent made for a fun evening. The owner met with guests the next morning and shared stories about the history of the house and the reputation as being haunted. Food was good, staff great, room comfortable and cool. Looking forward to a return visit

Murder Mystery 2016

My husband and I went with a group of friends and it was so much fun! The dinner was well prepared, all of the guests were friendly and entertaining, and the host was hysterical! It was a perfect date night and group activity. We stayed at the sister house, the White Peacock in the library room and was really satisfied with our room. Both houses were very interesting and the ghost stories were a perfect ending to a great weekend!

At the inn, owner Rebecca Luker shows The Oklahoma Paranormal Society around the parlor, where an employee saw, in a mirror, a man wearing Victorian-era clothing and a large black top hat; the basement, where the housekeeper saw the same man reading a newspaper; upstairs, a door that Rebecca has heard open and close; the closet where her son saw a girl who might have been Augusta, a child believed to have died of poisoning inside the house., Oklahoma Today, The Daily Oklahoman, News Press Weekender.
