Circa 1884. Most guest rooms and suites of this Second Empire Victorian feature an ocean view. There is a handsome library and parlor, and the opulently decorated bed chambers feature Victorian beds, mahogany tables and multi-patterned wallpapers. The first-floor room has stained-glass French doors. Quiches, crepes and egg entrees are served on antique silver, crystal and Royal Worcester china. An English afternoon tea is offered. Antiquing, live theatre and shopping are available nearby.

Pignoli Cantucci (biscotti)

These are sliced and browned cookies that we call biscotti and Italians call cantucci. You can make them in any flavor, with any nuts, or any dried small fruits like dried cherries, or golden raisins. They can also be dipped in melted chocolate

Deep Dark Devils Food Cake

I usually make this cake for teatime as a bundt cake and serve it with a chocolate sauce made of melted bittersweet chocolate and butter. It also makes a great layer cake. One variation is to add chopped prunes to the batter.

Buckwheat Crepes With Pears And Swiss

These are a great breakfast dish, especially in winter when pears are easily availible. The buckwheat is much nuttier than regular crepe batter and the pears seem more special than apples.
