Meg & Dan's Trip to Burlington, VT!

Our stay at Made INN in Burlington, VT was beyond amazing! My husband and I got married last year, and decided to take a couple of shorter trips this summer, as opposed to any crazy flights/travel. We made the three-ish hour drive from Boston, and were immediately greeted with a glass of wine and the most friendly host - Linda! We felt so welcomed and she was a wealth of knowledge. What I loved most about our visit was that it felt like home - I don't know about you, but I never sleep very well in hotels, and a "stay-cation" defeats the purpose of taking time off because I feel obligated to run through my to-do list. SO, our bed and breakfast stay was the most relaxing, comfortable, and I slept amazing because it just felt like home! Breakfast was amazing (even for healthy eaters :)). From wine and beer, to the awesome snacks in our room, to awesome recommendations -- Linda is absolutely amazing. She's SO much fun -- hope we can be like her "when we grow up!" Also, what amazing/cool decor throughout the whole B&B - we had a chalkboard wall in our room, and I loved reading what other guests had written! We'll definitely be back!

Most unique, comfy, stylish, best value stay in northern Vermont

I've travelled and stayed in award winning B&Bs all over the world, and Made Inn Vermont is genuinely one of the most stunning, comfortable, and best value experiences I've ever had. Linda is truly one of the most unique hosts I've ever stayed with, she's a master of her trade; she is welcoming, informative, eclectic, intelligent, and beyond helpful with anything a guest could need by way of comfort accommodation, local information, logistics and arrangements, and of course in offering the best quality experience at her victorian chic home in beautiful Burlington. Enjoy unique craft beers and cocktails, delicious and elegant breakfasts, yummy and healthy snacks available round the clock, and of course the pampering hot soak under a snowy winter sky in the cute and private outdoor patio, followed by a hot cup of tea and bundle up over a book on the oversized sofas, and enjoy the totally rare offering of a roasty Heady Topper (the only B&B in town providing the hard-to-get and award winning Alchemist brew). The Inn's private bathrooms are super comfortable and bedrooms are both stylish and cozy. The entire ambiance and experience at Made Inn Vermont is so special and captivating it will be difficult to leave. I'll certainly be going back for my next work or leisure visit to Burlington. I learned of Made Inn Vermont from the impressive, highly recommended reviews in Washington Post Travel, Travel + Leisure Magazine, and Huffington Post.

The Best Place to Stay in Burlington we think must be this boutique B&B: Made INN Vermont

We had an awesome experience at this secluded historic downtown Victorian gem…we found ideally located in walking distance to restaurants, bars, boutique Vermont shops and a short car ride to downtown Church Street, the Burlington Harbor…near Burlington’s top activities…all in Vermont’s largest and artsy and Vermont sophisticated city, Burlington. The funky-fun stylish Inn offers attentive friendly and professional staff. Linda, the owner, is the most fun, eccentric, "politically incorrect" (as she proudly boasts) hostess extraordinaire...her style of hosting was to treat us/guests as if they are long time friends, and we felt lucky to stay in this special romantic hidden funky inn in the most beautiful Burlington historic neighborhood. Breakfast is provided in the cafe or parlor, on the gorgeous Victorian porch or in the back garden if the weather is good. Breakfast were more than delicious including cooked to order eggs, maple bacon, country fresh potatoes, Vermont Cabot cheeses, specialty local breads, fresh fruits, local Vermont yogurts, sweet pastries, granolas…plus juices and high-end self-service coffee machine. Wi-Fi and free (included) wine and beer (Heady Topper & Focal Banger- hoppy but great) is available and served inside and outside on the property. Our room showcased high ceilings and a wonderful antique chandelier, but the designs and furnishings were modern, artsy-hip, clean and thoroughly comfortable. Our bathroom included a large walk-in shower and Vermont shower products. The whole experience of this small private 4 guests-room all-inclusive inn included many thoughtful artistic and fun touches. This is for those who prefer a non-branded corporate hotel, a small boutique luxury bed and breakfast that is friendly to pets and children offering up a real memorable stay.

The Best INN Vermont

This place is as eclectic and unique as Burlington itself. There are record players in every room and a thousand old vinyls spread throughout the house! Additionally there are no charges for any of the MANY foods stocked in all the rooms and the kitchen area. Linda is a fantastic host who is literally offering everybody drinks as soon as 4PM hits. This place is relatively cheap for all that it offers! STAY HERE!

omg. Just. Stay. Here.

Unbelievable place. Truly one-of-a-kind. Linda guaranteed that my teen daughters would love it and they LOVED it. I don't even know where to begin: the bounty of candy and snacks. The balloons. The vinyl collection. The guitars, amps and uke. The hot tub. The bubbles. The toys and games. The drinks. Mimosas and Sangria mixed on the spot. Like a permanent party at Willy Wonka's + Hasbro. The stunning and absolutely outstanding breakfast. Linda did a laundry for us before we left!!! The cat. She allows dogs. The soundproof walls. Movie library. Chalkboard walls. Party lights. Colored lights under the beds. Latex mattress pad. Velvety sheets. Bathrobes. Bathing suits available. Sunblock, too. In-room snack bars with drinks and cotton candy. Funky collection of shampoos and soaps. Linda's generosity and willingness to do anything to make you comfortable. The art book collection. The vintage periodicals. The interesting magazines, up-to-date. Fresh flowers. Nooks and crannies. Widow's walk with telescope and binoculars. Antiques. Refashioned funky furniture. The blank frame collection. The one-legged table. The electric fireplace nook. The stunning artwork. The etched windows. The hilarious, creative and inspired decor. The magical light-switch. The perfect ambient music. The excellent in-room air conditioner. The fountain near the cars. The fire pit. Lava lamp. Puzzles. Magnetic screen doors and unique window treatments. You can touch and explore everything and not worry about an inn-keeper being uptight about it--and there IS so much to touch and explore! Jam-packed, in fact. The service is outstanding. With all this stuff in the inn, it was hard to believe it can be kept clean, but it was! Completely dust- and cobweb-free :) I think there is more in that house or that Linda offers that I missed. Gotta go back.

Romantic getaway

We absolutely loved staying at Made Inn Vermont. Linda and the rest of her staff were amazingly helpful and attentive. They went out of their way to make sure all of our needs were met. The breakfast exceeded our expectations! We were full and happy the entire weekend! The inn went above and beyond with little touches that really added to the experience. This is like no other bed and breakfast you will ever go to! Just a short walk to downtown and to lake Champlain. We will definitely be visiting again! Thanks Linda!

A Vermont Gem that would be a Gem Anywhere!

What a wonderful place to stay. Linda, the proprietor, is an absolute joy. She went out of her way to make sure my stay was fantabulous, and it was. Her breakfasts exceeded my every expectation, and were some of the best I've had anywhere. Loved the special Vermont foods and beverages. And a special shout out to all the classic records and record players. I really enjoyed playing the Moody Blues. It was a business trip - but sure seemed like a vacation.

Made INN Vermont! Great Stay!

MadeINNVermont WOW! The coolest, coziest, sweetest, warmest, hotest place to stay on the East Coast! It was my second time staying at Made Inn Vermont and it was really a great experience. This little BnB is full of art and electric eclectic joy! The first time I was there I chatted to some guests on the way out. "Oh we're going to see the Pixies.." What? the greatest band of it's time- who are these cool people staying here? Anyway I'm gushing- great stay, great food, Linda is a hoot! and the service is top notch!

Fabulous B&B

Great location - easy walking distance to downtown. Large rooms decorated in hip and fun motif (with lots of snacks in room at no extra charge). Super-comfy beds and linens. Nicely appointed furnishings - comfy too! Bathroom roomy for two people with soft towels and softer bathrobes on hand. Breakfast was yummy and nutritious (we are bicyclists -so needed an energy packed breakfast that was also Gluten Free - Thank you Linda and staff). The staff was friendly and helpful. Linda is generous and informative (she offered us the use of her vehicle if needed). Hi-quality snacks always on hand in the dining area. Oh and Heady Topper Beer - now that was a Treat!!! It was a fun place to stay for our 20th. Would definitely stay again.

Made Inn Burlington VT......

An absolutely fabulous getaway. The inn and rooms were fabulously decorated and extremely clean. We were so happy with the place. Food was to die for. Linda and her staff gave us such great attention, suggestions for dining and site-seeing and directions to get every where. Definitely worth a return trip.

Great Get-Away

Made Inn Vermont was a great choice for our get away. The room was wonderful and the entire b&b was great. Linda made sure we had everything we wanted or needed. The breakfast was great and Linda even greeted us with drinks after a long day of sightseeing. We had coffee in the morning in the widow's peek and watched the beautiful lake with the sun coming up. Can't wait to go back.

The PERFECT Burlington Getaway!

My boyfriend and I just spent two nights at the Made Inn and I cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was! The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and having FUN! Right as we arrived they made sure we had drinks and a tour of the Inn. The Inn is gorgeous and immaculate! The room was spotless, charming, and comfortable. On top of our bed being extremely comfortable, the added bonus of having luxurious robes to lounge in, made it even better! Our bathroom was very nice and VERY clean. It did not feel like the sterile , uncomfortable typical hotel vibe, it was truly a relaxing, fabulous experience. Linda provided excellent service, making sure we had everything we wanted and more for breakfast. Breakfast was made to order, and delicious. There was always snacks available which made it feel like our own home. Linda made sure that we knew of things to do in the area, without being overbearing. We also LOVED using the hot tub, it was very clean and was beautiful lit up at night. We cannot stop talking about our stay here and cannot wait to go back!

Very Hip B&B in Burlington

This b&b is really hip. Very nice room, very clean. Just great: An old record player and old vinyl records in the room. Great: Style, clean, walking distance to city and Lake Champlain No so great: Some noise at night due to car traffic, bathroom not integrated in the room. In any case a nice visit to remember! Made INN Vermont was great!

We enjoyed our time at the INN and would recommend it as a nice option for a stay in Burlington. We don't stay ay many B and Bs and Linda the inn keeper made us feel right at home. She has an eye for design and her house is full of interesting elements. The breakfast was delicious. The INN is centrally located and it's a short walk to the main area of a Burlington.

Charm, Warmth, and Quality

My wife and I visited Burlington to celebrate her birthday. Our stay at Made Inn Vermont was glorious. Our host, Linda, treated us with exactly the right amount of attention a guest could want. It's worth breaking down the things we appreciated into these categories: HOSPITALITY As I said, Linda was amazing. Upon welcome, she spends just the right amount of time providing you with all of the maps you need, suggests some wonderful restaurants, gives you the tour, offers you some home-made sangria or a local beer (both equally terrific), and then leaves you to sink in to your room. But, upon discovering it was my wife's Birthday, Linda went out and bought 2 "Happy Birthday" balloons, two small cupcakes, and a lovely card. When we returned from a long bike ride, we found this surprise waiting for us in our room (along with some sangria). It was pretty awesome. FURNISHINGS We stayed in room 904. It was huge and had a chalk board for one of the walls (with chalk available). We also had a record player and a box of records, including one of my favorite Wynton Marsalis albums (though if you don't like what's there, just roam the house; neatly collected record crates dot the place imploring you to explore). The decoration is eclectic and celebratory, but also clean and welcoming (which describes the entire house, really). I HIGHLY recommend you take a drink up to the Widow's Walk at the top of the house and watch the sun set behind the mountains and Lake Champlain. You will find few views that beat this one in the whole town. FOOD We ate two breakfasts here, and they were both restaurant quality meals. In fact the Creme-Brulee French Toast was better than most things I've had in recent memory. Linda and her staff make sure you have everything you need (and more), so you can start your day beautifully. LOCATION You're close to everything and exactly far enough away from "everything" to know you'll get some sleep and enjoy some quiet time.

Best B&B in Burlington!

Such a fun and unique B&B! Its the perfect place for a couples romantic stay. The website advertises an "urban chic/rustic" inn, and that's exactly what it is. The décor is awesome - there's musical instruments, record players, chalkboard walls, eclectic furniture, books, and board games both in the rooms and the common areas. The bathrooms are also super clean and each one unique! The breakfast was amazing, and the hostest greets you with an authentic Vermont brew. On top of that, you can enjoy the complimentary beverage in their quaint little back yard in the hot tub. Couldn't ask for more. Friendly service, unique experience, great food and drink, super fun place!

Wonderful stay at Made Inn Vemont!

Our stay in Burlington at Made Inn Vermont was awesome! Breakfast every morning was great. Linda even traded my husband for a local beer he wouldn't have gotten otherwise! This made him extremely happy! We would definately recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone visiting Burlington.

A very cool place to stay with a lot of perks!

We enjoyed our stay at Made INN Vermont very much! The owner Linda made us feel comfortable and at home as soon as we walked in. We were given welcome drinks and a tour of the inn. We stayed in the king room and it was just as pictured on the website. The bed was very comfy complete with fun colored lights underneath. We had a record player in the room complete with a great collection of records to listen to! Breakfast was great and the chef accommodated our dietary needs. We used the hot tub both nights and it was perfect after walking around all day! This is a great place to stay, we didn't use our car the whole time we visited, you can walk to most places downtown Burlington in about 5-10 mins. The drinks are flowing here and it is a great place to just chill out and relax. Just what we needed!

Pleasant stay

We were there only one night but enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was fantastic as was the sangria we enjoyed upon our arrival. The only thing we didn't like was having the bathroom down the hall.(It was for our use only during our stay but was not in the room itself.) Room 904 was great and we probably would have had a view of Lake Champlain if it hadn't been snowing!

First bed and breakfast experience and loved it!

This was a Christmas gift for my boyfriend and myself new had never been to Burlignton so decided to start looking for places. We wanted something different than a traditional hotel and we stumbled on this place. The uniqueness of each room caught our eye. Everything in this place has character, from the records everywhere to the salt shakers. Rooms were great and beds comfy. Personal bathroom as well down the hall. Breakfast was phenomenal! Innkeeper is one of a kind. Very personable and friendly. Great recommendations for spots to go. We will defiantly be going back!

Best B&B. Period.

Made INN Vermont is simply the best bed and breakfast experience I have ever had. The style of the inn is impecable - I feel like I am living in art. Linda, the owner, is very personable and friendly without being the least bit overbearing. The food is fantastic. I would stay here again and again (and I have!).

Comfortable, eclectic, and totally worth it.

My girlfriend and I booked several nights follow new years eve. the property is beautiful, unique, and a fun place to stay. Linda is a fun and wonderful hostess. The property is very convenient to go downtown and the cupola has a great view to the water. Our room was well supplied and always tidy. Breakfast was always amazing. Despite the cold weather we popped in the hot tub to end a ski day and it made for a great relaxing evening under the stars. This was absolutely perfect and I couldn't have asked for better. We loved every moment of our time there and will be back. N&K

quite the inn

This is quite the inn! After checking in to room 903 (small but perfectly cozy), Linda suggested that we take a look at the winter sunset from the widow's walk. We were met with hot cider, cheesecake, and a heated fireplace to complement the gorgeous view. The inn is packed full of luxurious amenities and eclectic oddities which were delightful to peruse: art books, vintage games and puzzles, knick knacks and interesting decor. For whatever idea we had, Linda had something to make it that much more special- hot chocolate, cozy robes, great music piping through the downstairs, a tropical beverage for the hot tub... she was almost insistent that we take advantage of every special thing the inn has to offer. Breakfast was incredible both mornings- eggs and delicious local cheese, maple bacon, pancakes with fresh fruit, cinnamon raisin french toast, all in addition to the spread she prepares for the table with granola, pastries, yogurt, juices, fruits. The staff was attentive, the space attractive- all in all a nice way to stay in Burlington.

Absolutely Amazing Bed & Breakfast!”

We stayed a long weekend in Made Inn Vermont, and we could not have been more enchanted. The Inn is like living in a piece of art. It is absolutely beautiful and inviting. It is very cool, not stuff with florals and lace like other B&Bs. Breakfast was outstanding, but that was not the only food offered. Snacks and beverages were available throughout the day, both in the common areas and also in the rooms. Our Room (904) was just perfect. Perfect! The bed was heaven. The room was spacious and sleek, just divine. We had bathroom number 1 - very spacious and luxurious with a claw-foot bath. Do not miss out on the hot tub! The only thing that was missing was a workout space, but the owner showed us the space that she is currently converting into just that. The owner and the rest of the staff are lovely, energetic, engaging and welcoming. We were perfectly at ease as a same-sex couple. Additionally, the Inn is located in a great area of Burlington. We will likely make this our go-to weekend destination! Room Tip: Each room has it's own personality, and the owner will be more than happy to help you select a space that is perfect for you.

“The only place to stay in Burlington”

My boyfriend and I live in Montreal and we often go down to Burlington to shop and walk around. We discovered this inn on the internet and wish we'd seen it before. Amazing victorian house, amazing rooms and breakfast. The entire experience was wonderful, and with an outdoor jaccuzi available for late night dips; we slept like babies! Will definitely be going back there on our next trip to Vermont; as far as we're concerned, this is the only place you should spent the night.

“New Years Eve Getaway”

We had the pleasure of a stay at Made Inn Vermont over the New Years Holiday recently. The experience was a lot of fun and it definitely exceeded our expectations. We do not usually stay at B&B's as we have found that it is can be like going for a visit to your old maiden aun'ts house . . . there are lots of antiques and one feels that they shouldn't touch anything. Made Inn Vermont is not like that! It is a hands-on place, meant to be lived in and enjoyed by guests! There are plenty of beautiful antiques and architecture, but the house is also stocked with a cool, eclectic mix of art, books, games, and collectibles that are there to be enjoyed. We had the good fortune to enjoy the New Year's Eve fireworks display from the widow's walk cupola - probably the best view in Burlington!

“Fleetwood Mac”

Are you into great eclectic interior design, an insanely renovated Victorian House, vermont food, vintage albums, out of print art books, views to Lake Champlain, over-the-top generosity, a short walk into downtown Burlington, a killer hot-tub, and overall amazing taste? Then look no further as it would be impossible to find a better place to stay then Made Inn Vermont. Linda, the Inn keeper was AWESOME! The attention to detail is impeccable. This Inn made for the best X-mas for my wife and I ever!! Dont miss it!! Room Tip: Room 904 is killer + it has colored neon lights under the bed!!

Best B&B

As my husband said following a piquant breakfast of cheesy eggs with lox, "This is the Best B&B I have ever stayed at." Not only are the staff friendly, the place cozy, and the location perfect but I don't think I saw a single doily anywhere. This is a hip place but I think anyone of any age would feel welcome and comfortable here. For visitors who have never been to Burlington, the information available on sights and restaurants rivals any high end hotel. Also, my husband and I stayed in the small room, complete with chalkboard to leave your mark. No more outdated guest books and we loved it! We only wish we could have stayed more than 1 night . .. but we'll be back!

Great food, accomodations, and star

What a great place to stay! The house is gorgeous and modernly decorated. The hostess was so accommodating, friendly, and available to us if we needed anything. There's an enormous DVD collection in case you want to just snuggle up and watch a movie one night. And there's this fantastic widow's walk with a space heater and blankets where you can enjoy the view of Burlington with some hot cider. The outdoor hot tub was also an awesome touch. The breakfast was really out of this world - I'd never stayed at a B&B and was expecting standard breakfast fare. This was really excellent, creative food with several options to choose from (or a little of each).

A romantic weekend getaway!

A couple weeks ago I planned a weekend getaway to Burlington, VT for my boyfriend's 27th birthday. I was looking for a unique, hipster-type place, that was private and romantic, but also near-enough to downtown so that we could walk if the weather was nice. I looked through dozens of different places to stay; hotels, cabins, inns and other bed & breakfast locations. NONE compared to what I found when I came across Made INN Vermont. Although it was a little higher in price comparison, I made the choice to book a room when I realized and added up the cost of all the amenities included. We were provided on-site parking, plenty of local snacks and drinks in our room refrigerator, spa-type goodies in our room (bath soap rose petals, lip balm, shampoo, conditioner, etc!), NY-style cheesecake available as a dessert in the kitchen area, a midnight hot tub reservation, luxurious bath robes to use (I am planning to buy one of my own, it was so nice), and a Saturday morning breakfast that was ridiculously good. I could go on and on about how great waking up at Made INN Vermont was. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we were allowed to choose our own breakfast time for a late wake-up. My boyfriend and I made coffee and took croissants up to the cupola to read the paper and relax while the professional chef made our hot crepes, home-fries and maple bacon! Linda made everything about our weekend stay one-of-a-kind. Made INN Vermont was even better in person than we expected from viewing pictures on the website, reading past reviews, and seeing other photos on tripadvisor. If you are looking for a romantic getaway that has unique charm without the usual overly feminine traits that a bed & breakfast typically has, this is the place. Nothing about Made INN Vermont cuts corners. We were provided with exceptional service and hospitality that was well worth the price. I can't wait to go again. We had such a great time in February, I can't even imagine what fun Made INN Vermont will be in the summer!

The moment we walked into Made INN Vermont we were surprised and delighted! Our host could not have been more accomodatng and her artistic eye for beauty and attention to ever detail could be seen everywhere. A Perfect One-Year Anniversary

Not a single detail overlooked, easily one of the most modern, yet comfortable Inns we could imagine. Private, gorgeous, meticulously clean, perfectly located, welcoming atmosphere, and great hospitality. Add in delicious food, attentive staff, and a bonus of a a romance package, and we have an anniversary that none other could compare to. Book as soon as you can, because there is only a few rooms in this quaint inn and you wont want to miss out on the experience that Linda and her staff offer their guests.

Wonderful inn!

My husband and I stayed at this inn earlier this month and had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful with a funky twist. A modern spin without historical charm lost. Linda, the innkeeper, is extremely welcoming, fun and thinks of every little detail. The cupola is a beautiful place to enjoy a sunset with a nice drink. And if you are lucky like we were, Linda will bring a slice of cheesecake up to you :) she even sent us on our way with a snack box for our trip. A short walk away from the shops and restaurants of Church St. We can't wait to return!!

Eclectic design gem in historic

Historic district; beautiful, engaging, eclectic design throughout; many comfortable sitting areas inside and out; delicious breakfast, and treats always around; relax in the hot tub or stroll to the farmers market, many wonderful restaurants or active waterfront; owner and staff warmly met all our needs; small whimsical surprises found in house and rooms compliment the design aesthetic; highly recommend and will return.

Made INN Vermont is a MUST DO

My Husband and I love staying in B&B's...this was truly one of the best! The home is stunning - but, even more important - what is inside is AMAZING!! The décor is funky-retro-chic. There are tons of books, games, musical instruments, DVD's etc...for your entertainment and enjoyment. In the breakfast area, there are lots of goodies (this is a huge foodie town, so you may be too stuffed to take anything - especially after the awesome breakfast that you get at Made INN Vermont!). The pictures and reviews cannot do Made INN Vermont justice - this is an absolute must do! The food is amazing, the rooms are so comfy - you have robes, temperpedic mattresses on the beds, snacks in the room if you get hungry or want to watch a movie in bed and have real movie theater snacks, etc... There are also all sorts of fun things in the house. Our room had one wall painted with chalkboard paint and we could use the colored chalk in our room to be creative and write on the wall! I also banged on the drum (waited until there were no other guests in the house to do this!) and played the Ukulele in the room! Do not be concerned at all that the bathroom is not right in the bedroom...there are four bedrooms on the second floor and the bathrooms are all within a few steps - you have a key to your bathroom, so it is not a shared bathroom! The bathroom was also fully stocked with whatever you would need if you forget anything on your travels. The breakfast was amazing and there are lots of options - yogurts, fruit, granola, shakes and juices, pastries, and hot options - eggs, etc... During our time, one day there was an eggs benedict and the next day a maple mascarpone cheese crepe with different fruit toppings! Finally, the location of Made INN Vermont is awesome. It is super easy to get to from the main highway and once you are there, you can walk down to the main area - Church Street and the lakefront area - without any problems! We cannot wait to go back!!!

Don't miss this B+B!

My husband and I had an excellent stay here!! Linda and staff are wonderful: friendly, accommodating and go out of their way to make sure everything is comfortable and exceptional. The beds are the best, as is the service: the food is amazing and customized to your likes. Snacks and beverages are free and everywhere...the location is also ideal and Linda makes it a point to help with fantastic suggestions. Don't miss staying here!! We hope to come back again and again...Thank you Made INN Vermont!
