Description
Circa 1859. Romance and relaxation await at this stunning 1859 plantation mansion. Meticulously restored to offer the best of contemporary comforts, it has retained yesterday's enchantment. Enjoy wine and cheese upon arrival. Ascend the four-story oval staircase to the fanciful cupola. Stately guest bedrooms boast double whirlpool tubs, fine linens, original Italian marble fireplaces, antique furnishings and period décor. Satisfying plantation breakfasts are served in front of the fireplace in the dining room, on the rear veranda or on the brick courtyard. Wander the 37 acres with summer kitchen, smokehouse and schoolhouse still standing amongst 200-year-old trees. Generals Lee, Jackson and Hill were guests when the Army's Northern Virginia Corps III headquartered here. Visit local wineries, three presidential homes and several major Civil War battlefields, all within 25 miles.
