This recipe was originally created for breakfast. You can serve it with maple syrup on the side or your favorite jam/jelly. Also depending on the season, you can add other fruits to complement the apples such as blackberries, grapes, cherries, etc.

Oil or butter, for greasing a 9 in. pan
1/4 cup sugar
4 eggs
1-tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup milk or half & half
1 cup "Krusteaz" light and fluffy buttermilk pancake mix or your own favorite pancake mix
2-4 small or medium apples cut up into 1 inch slices or small pieces.
No preheating required

Generously grease a 9 in. baking pan.
Arrange the cut up apples over the greased pan.
In a bowl, combine pancake mix, sugar, olive oil, milk, add the eggs, and whisk until smooth (the consistency of pancake batter).
Pour the batter on top of the apples in the baking pan
Turn the oven on.
Put the baking pan in the oven and bake it at 350 degrees F for about 35 minutes until the Torte is golden brown or a tester inserted in the cake comes out clean.
Let bake for an additional 5-10 min if necessary (depending on your oven)
