Baked Cinnamon French Toast

A double stack of cinnamon raisin bread on top of a sinfully delicious whipping cream custard base!

12 slices of cinnamon bread (I use Pepperidge Farm Cinnamon Raisin)
1/4/ butter
9 eggs
1 quart milk (whole)
2 cups whipping cream
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Warmed blackberry preserves
Fresh blackberries and whipping cream (optional

Line the bottom of a greased 13 by 9 by 2 inch baking dish with six slices of bread. Butter remaining bread: place with butter side up over bread in pan.
In a mixing bowl, beat eggs. Add milk, cream, sugar, and vanilla. Mix well. Pour over bread.
Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Place the dish in a larger baking pan. Pour boiling water into larger pan to a depth of l".
Bake, uncovered at 375 degrees for about 50 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Let stand for 10 minute before serving. Top with preserves, fresh blackberries and whipped cream, if desired.
