Caramel French Toast
Description:
Baked French toast which is prepared and left in the refrigerator overnight to be baked in the morning. Ingredients: 1 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup butter 2 tablespoons light corn syrup 6 eggs 1/12 cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/4 teaspoon salt 12 slices of Italian or French bread Directions: Spray 9x12 glass baking dish with Pam Combine sugar, butter and syrup in small sauce pan. Heat over medium low heat until syrup starts to boil and becomes frothy. Pour sauce into the prepared baking dish. If desired,sprinkle 1/4 cup of slivered pecans or chopped nuts over the sauce. Remove crusts from bread and cover baking dish with a double layer of bread. Mix together eggs, milk, vanilla and salt and pour mixture over the bread. Cover with plastic or foil wrap and store in the refrigerator over night. Cook at 375 degrees for approximately 30 minutes in the morning. Let cool for 5 minutes before cutting .
