My Favorite Scones
Description:
I like to make these scones with cinnamon chips and sprinkle some cinnamon sugar on top. They are wonderful with any variety of fruit, flavorings or herbs. Ingredients: 2 cups flour 4 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup milk 1 stick butter 1 egg beaten and divided in half 1/2 cup fruit or flavored chips Directions: If you are using dried fruit such as raisins, soak the fruit and squeeze out water when ready to use. Mix all of the dry ingredients. Cut in the butter and add 1/2 of the beaten egg. Add milk and fruit to mixture. Dollop onto ungreased pan. I use a baking stone. Brush the top with the remaining egg. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 - 15 minutes. Recipe Summary: Yield: 1 dozen Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 15 minutes Comments: Other recipes by Lovelace Manor Bed and Breakfast: Fresh Pear Cake |
