Pear Sauce For Waffles

An easy caramel sauce that is perfect to accompany Belgian waffles.

2 Tbs butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 can (13oz or larger) pears, sliced
1/3 cup juice reserved from pears
1 tsp corn starch
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Melt butter and brown sugar together over medium heat.
Stir corn starch into reserved pear juice.
When butter/sugar mixture begins to bubble, add the corn starch/pear juice mixture slowly, stirring continuously until thoroughly blended and mixture thickens. Add pear slices, stirring gently and turn heat to low. When heated through, add cinnamon. Spoon over two waffle quarters and serve.
