Spicy Garbanzo

Spicy Garbanzo (Chickpeas)

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 garlic cloves minced
1 medium onion chopped
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 tomato chopped
2 tablespoon each of the following minced fresh parsley and basil
ground cumin, allspice
Two 15-ounce cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed

In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil. Add garlic, onion and red pepper. Cook until onion is transparent.
Add chopped tomatoes. Sauté for two minutes and add parsley, basil, cumin and allspice. Stir.
Add chickpeas. Stir frequently to avoid sticking. Brown lightly, then add 2 tablespoon water.
Lower flame, cover saucepan and cook for 10 minutes.
