The Bartlett-Upjohn House with Eastlake-Queen Anne architecture, the Carriage House and the Chappell House comprise this guest house and events center located on two acres in the Historic District. Classically appointed, the Victorian ambiance is reflected in period antiques, hand-painted art wallpapers and Belgian lace. Tasteful guest bedrooms and a three-room suite offer a choice of pleasing amenities that may include a fireplace, balcony and kitchenette. Savor a made-to-order breakfast in the dining room daily. The award-winning McDuffee Gardens are planted with 25 different flowers and bushes from Shakespeare?s plays. A gazebo, pergola and fountains are enjoyable stops along the meandering paths.

The McDuffee Garden was restored in the 1980's and throughout this past year with over 25 different flowers and bushes mentioned in William Shakespear's plays. The Garden blooms in the Spring and becomes a preferred setting for bride's, married in our Gazebo, surrounded by the aroma of the garden. |
