Amazing location and great hosts.

Beautiful home located in the middle of the battlefield at Gettysburg. Great hosts, everything you could think to ask for was already provided...directions, suggestions, history lessons...a wonderful spot for exploring this amazing historic area. Todd & Christine have done a fantastic job, it's clear they love Gettysburg and are happy to share their knowledge with their visitors. Staying here made our vacation truly memorable.

Our best B&B experience!

DoubleDay Inn: Incredible house located directly on the Battlefield at the Gettysburg...unbelievable! We had an amazing weekend here touring the field and the new Visitor Center. The Inn hosted a historian on Saturday night and he was just so knowledgeable...the session really added to our enjoyment and education. Delicious breakfasts, immaculately clean and comfortable room, great info on the town and touring, could not have asked for anything more. These innkeepers clearly enjoy what they do and want to help you make the most of your time in this historic town. Can't wait to return to the best B&B we've ever experienced!

Wonderful Gettysburg B&B

Simply the best we've experienced in Gettysburg. Amazing location right on the battlefield, it was the most quiet and peaceful setting you can imagine. Beautiful rooms, historical decorations everywhere, delicious and generous breakfasts, very warm and knowledgeable innkeepers and the best location in town. Look no further, this is the place to stay!

Incredible Value!

Our very first b&b experience and thanks to the Doubleday Inn we will never go back to hotels again! This beautiful Inn right on the Gettysburg Battlefield is beautiful and charming, without being stuffy in the least. Todd and Christine will treat you like a long-lost friend...very kind and really smart about Gettysburg history. Huge breakfasts kept us going all day long, and cookies to munch on in the afternoon were an added bonus. Their rates were not only less than the other area b&b's we researched, but LESS than some of the generic chain motels! You simply can't go wrong with a stay here. Thanks for a great weekend, you will see us again!

Gettysburg's Finest

Having stayed at just about every b&b in Gettysburg, we can say without a doubt that the Doubleday Inn is the finest. Their location on the battlefield is unmatched. This along with the friendly innkeepers, delicious food, and comfortable rooms makes it our very favorite. Believe it or not, it's also the most economical. Do yourself a favor and stay here on your trip to Gettysburg...you'll be glad you did.

InnSide Tip - Book Early!
The is Gettysburg's most popular b&b and as such it books up quickly, especially for summer and fall weekends.

Truly special!

An exceptional b&b, both for its location and its wonderful hosts, Todd & Christine. For history buffs, this is a vacation destination like no other, right on the battlefield at Gettysburg. The Inn is clean, comfortable and ideally located to see everything the town has to offer, yet quiet and secluded with easy off-street parking. The perfect Gettysburg Inn.

Awesome!

I am a serious student of the Battle of Gettysburg, and for me there simply is not other place to stay than at the Doubleday Inn. The location on the field along with the hospitality of Todd & Christine make this one of the very best inns I have ever experienced. Thanks for a great vacation!

An Amazing Gettysburg Getaway!

I traveled to Gettysburg over Memorial Day weekend and stayed at the Doubleday Inn. This AMAZING bed and breakfast is located directly across from the national battlefield. The proprietors, Greg and Sue, provided a warm welcome and a tour of the property (we arrived before other guests had checked in.) The tour included the perhaps "haunted" Paul room and the remainder of the house that's completely decked out with Civil War memorabilia. Later, we discovered that much of the memorabilia exists because the Rosensteel family played a large role in the area's history! The entire property is a beautiful re-creation of the appropriate historical time, with beautiful wallpaper and antique furniture in every room, incredibly comfortable beds and bedding, and striking quilts. Cozy living, dining, and outdoor seating areas create a great environment where you can meet and chat with other guests, read any one of probably hundreds of available Civil War books, or observe the stunning scenery outside. Throughout our stay, our hosts were friendly and informative, with such amazing stories! Each day's breakfast was delicious (I'm talking to-die-for French toast and fresh strawberries!). I hope that as you read any of the negative reviews of this property (though there are few), you focus on the important criteria, not trivial concerns such as "the water for tea not being hot enough" (it was fine for me) or "Oh no! I can't have food in my room." (No, you're not children, but have you seen the mess some adults make with food? I have!) The Inn is a BEAUTIFUL, welcoming property in a peaceful and very humbling setting. You'll love it here! I did, and I'll definitely be back. Thank you, Greg and Sue, for a fabulous vacation experience!
