Description
Circa 1854. Shaded by eucalyptus trees and framed by gardens and white picket fences, the Inn at Benicia Bay is painted freshly in a cheerful yellow with white trim on its bay windows and porches. Gardens of marigolds, zinnias or mums brighten the vistas from rooms in the new wing, which offer private decks and patios. There's a banquet room with original cherrywood plank floors. This room was the center for the area's social activities when Benicia was a shipping center and home of many sea captains. The inn remains popular for gatherings such as weddings and receptions of more than 150 guests. All guest rooms offer antiques, original art, large beds, TV and Jacuzzi tubs. The parlor, library and gallery also feature polished hardwood floors. The wine country is nearby, or you can stroll a half block to the village shops, artist studios and galleries.
