Description
Circa 1815. This suite is in a cottage built to house slaves for John Kelly, who farmed about 500 acres. Thomas Jefferson wanted to buy the land, but built the University of Virginia on adjacent land instead. The suite is furnished with antiques, and there is a fireplace, TV and VCR in the sitting room. There are two bedrooms and one king bed, one single bed and a sleeper sofa. Monticello is five miles away. A sample breakfast menu is poached pears, cornbread, eggs, sausage, apple puffs and other hot breads. The innkeeper manages a reservation service and can offer a wide selection of B&B opportunities in the area.
