Description

Circa 1710. Stay in a quiet country setting of gardens, fields, and forests at this five-acre bed & breakfast inn, the recently restored Edward Denison House, a 1710 Center Chimney Colonial. The traditional decor is inviting and warm with candles in the windows, elegant colors and comfortable furnishings. Secluded hideaways encourage conversation or reading. Delightful guest bedrooms and a suite feature jetted tubs, fireplaces, handmade quilts and comforters. An incredible breakfast served on antique china and in crystal goblets may include sauteed apple and yogurt parfait, homemade doughnut muffins, cereals, scrambled eggs with cream cheese and crab alongside baked tomatoes and stuffed mushrooms, and sorbet or light pudding. Play badminton or croquet, and visit nearby Mystic Seaport.

Romantic Interest

Our inn is quiet, set on the edge of the country, surrounded by trees, with fireplaces, four poster beds and a simple, elegant feel.

What's Green About Your Inn

We raise our own chickens for eggs, grow our own herbs and vegetables, have acres of trees, recycle, use nontoxic cleaning products as much as possible and minimize the use of pesticides and fertilizer.

Describe Garden and Grounds

We have almost five acres! Part forest, part open fields, with lots of flowers, quiet green spots and a vegetable garden. About a dozen hens contribute eggs to the kitchen; they're guarded by their faithful rooster, Fred.
