Elopement!

My fiance (now husband) and I chose the Azalea Inn for their "elopement package" and could not have been more thrilled with the entire experience. Theresa and the staff were wonderful from start to finish, and were more than accommodating for our small ceremony. The inn itself is just stunning, and the decor makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. The breakfasts Theresa prepared were simply delicious, and Joey, the "house pup" was the cutest thing we've ever seen. The unique rooms, fantastic beds and linens, and comfy robes were just icing on the cake. We cannot wait to return to celebrate an anniversary, or anytime we can make it back!

Wedding

This place was so nice! The room was cozy and the staff catered to our every need. Returning from dinner on our last night we found rose petals scattered on our bed and hand dipped strawberries. It was my husband's first trip to Savannah and the B&B made it so relaxing and stress free.

great place to stay

We, a family of 4 from Denmark, enjoyed very much our stay. We met great hospitality, it was very interesting talking with Teresa, the owner. She could tell us about the town, places to go. Of course you could expect that in many hotels, but we felt it more personal here and we learned a lot about Savannah. Compares to other places we stayed, in our 3 weeks journey, the price was a bit high.

A Wonderful B & B

We love Azalea Inn & Gardens and would highly recommend this B & B if you're visiting Savannah. "Joey" made the trip for us and Teresa and the staff were all so sweet and wonderful! The food was delicious and the Inn was cozy, comfortable and quaint. A definite place to stay again!

The Perfect Romantic B&B Experience

My wife and I had never stayed at a Bed & Breakfast before, but after staying at the Azalea Inn we'll be seeking the B&B experience wherever we go! The Azalea staff creates an inviting atmosphere in which total strangers can become friends over one of their incredible breakfasts. The rooms are incredibly comfortable and tastefully decorated, and the staff takes care of every last detail - they keep a bottle of sherry in the parlor for those looking to lounge around and read and keep multiple DVD copies of famous movies filmed in Savannah (Forrest Gump, Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil) to help complete the Savannah experience. The hors d'ouvres are delicious, and we welcomed the opportunity to have a glass of wine while conversing with fellow guests. Even though this was our first B&B experience, we will have a hard time topping the service we enjoyed at the Azalea Inn.

Wonderful & Romantic

My husband and I stayed at the Azalea Inn and Gardens and were extremely pleased. The place is quiet and romantic. Off the beaten path of the hectic river front, but only a 15 minute walk. Loved this place! Will be going back again!

Romantic Retreat

The Azalea Inn surpassed every single one of my expectations! It was the quintessential Savannah Bed and Breakfast that showed us northerners true southern hospitality. The Azalea Inn is complete with romantic balconies and gardens, but has all the modern amenities many Bed and Breakfasts lack today. From the wine and cheese sampling after our arrival, to late night snacks left for us after our return from dinner, to one of the most impressive gourmet breakfasts I have ever had, my boyfriend and I cannot wait to go back!

I will never stay at my sister's apartment again! And that's a free stay! I've been to the Inn twice now and Teresa and her staff are fantastic, the food delicious, and accommidations gorgeous! And Teresa has to check my luggage to make sure I haven't run off with her Yorkie, Joey!

Perfect first-time Savannah visit

This was my first visit to Savannah and I could not have asked for better accommodations. My husband and I met a dear friend to celebrate her birthday. This was her first visit to Savannah as well, and as I chose the inn I was hoping it would be perfect -- it was! The staff are warm, welcoming, friendly, and very helpful. Even though we were unfamiliar with the city, the staff made sure we got to our destinations on time, and were always ready with recommendations for restaurants and transportation. Theresa, the innkeeper, is the ultimate hostess. She has turned this beautiful old Victorian home into the ultimate comfort spot -- the rooms are beautifully decorated and no detail has been overlooked. The beds are supremely comfortable and the bathrooms spotless and stocked with plenty of towels and accessories. Our room had a great balcony overlooking the beautiful garden, and the pool looked so inviting, even though it was too cold outside to enjoy when we were there! The parlor is a perfect gathering place -- sherry is always available, as are coffee and tea, and afternoon sweets and a wine-and-cheese hour ensure that no one goes hungry here! Theresa's home-cooked breakfasts are delicious, and her warm and friendly personality add a delightful ambience to the meal. Little Joey the Yorkie is always available to keep you company, and it is impossible not to feel relaxed and at ease in the homey atmosphere of this inn! I highly recommend the Azalea Inn and Gardens to anyone visiting Savannah -- I plan to stay again when I return to this wonderful city!

Home from Home

An excellent family run Inn which combines gracious living with modern amenities. Presided over by our friendly and charming host Theresa, the Azalea Inn was a little gem and the nearest thing we have found to home in our travels around the States. Good food, characterful rooms and good company---what more could we ask for?

Relax and Enjoy

My first trip to Savannah couldn't have been better. The Inn arranged for me to be picked up and returned to the airport. They made reservations for tours, dinner, and anything else that my heart desired. The staff is cheerful, caring, and professional. The rooms are all charming and have recently updated baths; the breakfasts are delicious, and the wine and cheese in the afternoon a nice perk. I would definitely recommend this lovely Inn.

Romantic

WOW! What a wonderful experience. Azalea Inn & Gardens was our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast and quite frankly we were not sure what to expect. Our worries were quickly put to rest by the friendly staff and owners of the inn. The stately mansion was both comfortable and nicely decorated. The food was excellent and the other guest made for interesting conversation.I highly recommand the Inn and we are looking forward to returning in the future.

Romantic get-away

Drove over 4 hours to get there. My first visit to Azalea Inn and worth every minute of the drive. Loved the room. Loved the comfortable bed. Loved the terrace overlooking the front walk. Loved the inn keeper and her little dog, Joey. Loved the back gardens and small pool. I loved everything about my long weekend. We'll definitely be back for another visit!

Good people and cosy place

It’s hard to run into genuinely good people these day but we feel as though we had our chance last weekend. Teresa and her staff were simply delightful and Jeffrey prepared some yummy breakfast. Jeffrey recommended Pink House and Vinnie Van Go-Go's for dinner and he was right on... Pink House is must and Vinnie Van Go-Go’s has the BEST pizza ever.

Very disappointing

For people who say they're honeymoon specialists they don't seem to have a clue. Noisy, no privacy, no consideration, no service, no breakfast. Check out the Sanctuary Recovery Center. It is a few doors down and what you see at the end of the street.

Management Response
I am sad to hear that this couple did not have the experience they expected. We allowed them an early check-in so she could shower and dress for her wedding that day. We offered and she accepted a glass (or 2) of wine to calm her jittery nerves. There was a "Do not disturb" sign on the door for the entire day following the wedding making it impossible to offer full service though the housekeeper did knock and offer them clean towels. They did not appear at breakfast on Saturday morning, nor did they request breakfast in their room. I live on site and a simple word would have allowed me to perhaps change their experience to one more in line with the comments offered in other reviews. I would say to all guests that innkeepers are open to your needs/comments and will strive to make your experience truly, wonderfully memorable.

Cuddle-icious

Though my husband and I spent only two nights in Savannah at the Azalea Inn, we had the most comfortable and relaxing time. Unfortunately, it stormed much of the time, but the room was so warm, comfortable and relaxing, we loved lounging around until 3p.m. the one full day we had in Savannah. The bed was very comfortable, the room was warm and cozy, and the room temperature was next to perfect. We had a delectable breakfast each morning and we met the nicest, friendliest guests while eating. Teresa, the Innkeeper, is attentive and a wonderful story teller. Her staff are friendly, courteous, and also very attentive. Joe, the B&B 4.2lb Yorke, is the cutest and most lovable mascot. We highly recommend the Azalea Inn.

We had a most enjoyable two night, one day stay in Savannah at the Azalea Inn and Gardens. The Inn provided the small touches that made the stay complete. Teresa, Inn Keeper was a relible source of advice and guidance that maximized our exposure to the city in minimum time.

romantic wedding night retreat

My husband and I stayed at the Azalea Inn for 2 nights following our downtown Savannah wedding. We stayed in the garden house, and the room was so cozy and luxurious. The bed was so comfortable and the whirlpool tub and gigantic shower head made us feel like royalty. Teresa brought us an amazing breakfast in bed. The only regrets I had were not spending more time at the Inn and enjoying the private garden and pool.

My husband and I just returned from our 21st anniversary to Savannah. This was our first visit to this beautiful historic city and our stay at the Azalea Inn made it perfect. It was so charming, beautifully decorated, and cozy. I am usually on the move and want to see and do everything. Romantic and Fun

My Husband and I stopped in Savannah and stayed at the Azalea Inn for New Year's Eve 2008 and also New Year's Day. Theresa was so welcoming and our room was great! That evening at the wine get-together we met so many nice fun-loving people. Theresa also set up reservations at the Ole Pink House which she recommended for that evening and it was great! The next morning at breakfast, Jeffrey cooked us a wonderful breakfast and we had fun with the New Year's Poppers!!! Jeffrey also set up a tour for us to see Savannah and the history behind the City. It was wonderful! I recommend the Azalea Inn and Gardens to anyone visiting Savannah GA.

Anniversary in Savannah

We stayed at the Azalea Inn December 2008 for our Anniversary. Teresa, Jeffery and staff made us feel so at home. It was one of the most relaxing vacations I have ever had. The breakfasts are wonderful (thanks Jeffery), the rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the staff could not have been more attentive to our requests. I would definitely recommend this Inn to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing get away.

Romance in Savannah

The Azalea Inn was the perfect place for our little getaway. This was our first time visiting Savannah, but will not be our last. Our room was amazing and the bed was very comfortable. Teresa and her staff were very friendly, welcoming, and more than helpful. Without their hospitality, our trip would not have been as memorable. The atmosphere of the Inn is very inviting and the personal touches provided are an added plus. The breakfasts and afternoon treats were delicious! If romance and relaxtion are what you are looking for then the Azalea Inn of beautiful Savannah is the place for you.

Romantic inn for an anniversary

My husband and I were celebrating our fifth year anniversary and were expecting our first child. The inn was extremely comfortable for someone 6 months pregnant, the food was delicious, the hosts very accomodating (we're both vegetarians), and the gentleman's parlor was cozy and modern. Excellent value for an excellent vacation.

Relaxing weekend getaway!

My wife and I spent a weekend in Savannah, and stayed here at the Azalea Inn. Teresa and the rest of the good folks at the Azalea treated us like family, and provided a wonderful home base for our getaway in this beautiful city. We were able to easily walk every day into the Historic District, and relax between jaunts in their parlor, sipping wine and enjoying conversation with the other guests. Truly a great experience!

Simply the Best!

The Azalea Inn was the perfect B&B for our girl's weekend. Everything was perfect -- more than we'd hoped for. The staff is great, the food -- wow! -- the rooms are beautiful and so very comfortable. You'll feel like you are returning home to a beloved aunt and uncle's home, where everything is cozy and luscious and welcoming. Oh, and the location of the B & B is great. Within walking distance or a short cab ride to all the great sights and sounds of Savannah. You'll love your stay here!

A fabulous vacation!

The Azalea Inn is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed! Our room was great, and I peeked in most of the other rooms and each was better than the last. Theresa was so helpful and even made a special breakfast for my friends who didn't eat sausage. Jeffery was hilarious and made the vacation even better. My husband and I were married in their garden and it was more perfect than I had imagined! We are planning on returning to Savannah as soon as possible and there is no doubt in our minds that we will stay at the Azalea Inn!!

The Most Memorable Gift

Our children gave us three nights at the Azalea Inn & Gardens as a 50th anniversary gift. Our two sons, our daughter-in-law and our grandaughter all were able to come for two of the nights. Terry and Kris came last year to celebrate their 25th anniversary. Everything was so perfect, friendly, warm it was like visiting with friends. The rooms were beautiful, clean with everything you could possibly want or need. Most of all we enjoyed the Innkeepers, Teresa and Jake and Miss Betty was just delightful. There were so many unexpected touches, like the first evening when we returned to our room and found a plate of melt in your mouth chocolate fudge. The wine and appetizers from 5:00 to 6:00pm when we could meet some of the other people staying there. Breakfast was something you did not want to miss and again a chance to socialize with the nice people who were also enjoying their stay at the Inn. To sum it all up, we did not want to leave on Monday and are already planning to come back next year with some more of the family. Savannah is a jewel of a city. If you want a taste of southern hospitality, go to Savannah and stay at the Azalea Inn and Gardens. Sincerely, Joe and Barbara Bradley

Happy 60th birthday at Azalea Inn

My best friend and I stayed here for our 60th birthdays. We have been friends for 53 years. Picking this Inn was easy after researching on the net. Everyone has loved it and for good reason. This was my first B&B experience and I have traveled extensively. What a wonderful experience. The staff made it what it was. Jeffory you are the best chef and fun to have a conversation with. Casondra wasn't always smiling but she did help us with every need including luggage up the stairs at 47 pounds. We always pack too much. We were luch to have 7 nights at the Inn. Relaxing and enjoying the other guests was a daily experience. The City itself was 2nd in comparison. We would love to come back. Next time we would like to meet the owners. They were not there when we stayed but know that your staff did an exceptional job in your absence. K & C. Thans for the birthday card!!

Very inviting!

Our stay at Azalea Inn and Gardens was our first visit to a Bed and Breakfast. Teresa and her staff made us feel right at home. The Sweet Olive room was spotless and very comfortable. The Inn is beautifully decorated with period pieces and the murals on the dining room walls were beautiful and interesting to look at. It was too cool to swim in the courtyard pool but it looked very inviting. A huge plus was the safe and ample off street parking. Another plus was her sweet yorkie, Joey. We are dog lovers and to have Joey (all 4 lbs of her) jump up and curl up beside me on the couch was so sweet. Teresa made last minute arrangements for us to be picked up in front of the Inn to participate in a tour of the historic area. This made us feel like royalty! We will be returning as soon as we can!

The Azalea Inn

What a wonderful time we had at the Azalea Inn in Historic Savannah, Georgia. From the wonderful breakfasts prepared by Jeff to the most gracious hospitality all the staff saw to, our week at the inn was a dream. Our room was very comfortable and having the quiet garden and pool just below our terrace made it so natural to slip out for a swim and some relaxing time outside. Savannah is a most beautiful destination and our experience here at the Azalea Inn was one we will hold dear in our lives...Paul and Sally

An experience, not just an inn!

We loved this place! We went to Savannah for our 8th anniversary and had such a lovely time, in large part, due to our stay here! The inn keepers were so thoughtful, they had chilled champagne waiting in our room when we arrived and when they found out I was pregnant, they quickly brought chocolate covered strawberries instead! They arranged all of our romantic dining reservations and made wonderful recommendations of how to spend our time in Savannah. In short, we were treated like royalty! Also, if you visit Savannah in the summertime, their beautiful garden swimming pool is a MUST. We will definitely stay there again our next trip through Savannah!

Spend a weekend getaway here!!!!

My wife and I had the most pleasant experience here at Azalea Inn and Gardens, what a wonderful place to stay if ever you visit beautiful Savannah, just a few short blocks away from the great nightlife of downtown river street or just spend the whole time at the Inn and just pamper yourself with all the ammenities this fine Inn has to offer. You'll simply love the hospitality It was our first time spending a weekend at an Inn and I would never stay at a hotel while in Savannah. This was by far the best place we have ever stayed at and we will be back again. I highly recommended it to all my family and friends, you'll see when you spend a weekend or just even 1 night. The finest I believe Savannah has to offer as far as B and Bs' are concerned. Teresa and her staff are wonderful!!!!

Above & beyond expectations

Azalea Inn was a very nice place to stay. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Parking is available in a lot next to the Inn. The neighborhood was nice and residential. We walked to most events, yes, even late at night! The Breakfasts were EXTRAORDINARY! We meet a lot of friendly and exciting people while staying at the Inn. We would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, romantic, getaway.

Can't wait to go back!

The owner and staff are very nice people and are extremely accommodating, when feasible. Jeffrey is an awesome cook, and the accommodations are very homey. It's worth every dime! My only complaint is that the city maps don't tell you that the street where the inn is located is split by a park; so, you may get lost trying to find it.

Review of Azalea Inn

This is a gem! First off, Teresa and her husband were wonderful...breakfast in the morning was so much fun, that it was difficult leaving the table! Although we had the smallest room at the inn (Gentleman's Quarters), it was beautifully decorated, and perfect for our two-night stay. Two extra bonuses - a swimming pool in the beautiful garden (a must at the end of the day in Savannah!), and for dog lovers, there's Joey (an adorable Yorkshire terrier). This inn was our first stay of a 12-day driving trip north, and it was definitely one of our favorites!

Absolutely Fabulous!

The Azalea Inn & Gardens was absolutely lovely. The staff was professional, helpful, and most of all friendly. This being my first stay ever in a B&B, I did not know what to expect. My best friend and I arrived and were instantly greeted and welcomed to the Inn. Our room (Huntingdon Garden) was relaxing and very comfortable. And of course, I have to mention the fabulous breakfasts and afternoon snacks. The Inn offered wonderful suggestions for tours and dining. My friend and I felt very safe at the Inn and will most definitely stay there again. Needless to say, the Azalea Inn & Gardens is a superb place to stay when in Savannah!

Best B & B in Savannah

As a professional travel writer, I am offered the opportunity to stay in many fabulous Inns around the country and the world, and I would have to rate the Azalea Inn and Gardens as one of the best! Teresa has molded this gorgeous Inn into a special, unforgettable place where visitors want to return again and again! From Max (the live cat on the front porch) to the beautiful gardens, the fantastic Vidalia Onion Dip, Kolin, Miss Betty, and the minature dog...Joey....it is a total experience that you'll be talking about for years!

A Sweet Savannah Trip for Two!

We had an AWESOME time! From the moment we walked in until the minute we checked out, we were treated special! The rooms are quaint and comfortable. The hospitality is top notch and the food is amazing! There is a garden oasis in the back with a pool. I forgot my swimsuit - make sure to bring yours. After a day of walking and site seeing, it would have been perfect to swim! Each afternoon we were treated to wine, cheese and various fruits. A homemade dessert was waiting for us each night when we returned from dinner! YUM-O! At breakfast there were different couples daily and it was fun to compare where we had been and make suggestions on where to go next. I think we made the right choice by staying two nights, one would just not have been enough. We were within walking distance to most places we wanted to go. We chose to drive to dinner b/c of the heat and the time of night we ate, but we were really centrally located. All in all, we had an amazing time. It was a perfect weekend get away for two in the sweetest town of Savannah! We will be back FOR SURE!

Romantic

We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast, but decided on the Azalea Inn for our elopement. We loved it. Sure, the house is older!!!! But it has character and history. I love the dining area with all it's paintings on the wall. Breakfast felt like a gourmet experience and it was fun having conversations with the other visitors there. We enjoyed it because the service we received was outstanding and we felt loved there! Our simple ceremony was great, better than I ever imagined. We will definitely be going back. -The Finger Family

We'll be back!

The Azalea Inn was just a wonderful spot to stay while exploring Savannah for the first time. Our room had a private balcony with the sound of the fountain below so it was a relaxing place to sit after a day of sightseeing (and because it is in the historic district, it is fun to walk around and see all the architecture and history of the city). The coffee and breakfast were just wonderful as was the warmth of their hospitality. We loved Savannah and will be back, and we will be sure to stay at the Inn when we return!

Romantic Getaway

There is truly no place like home except for the Azalea Inn in Savannah, GA. All of the staff is completely fabulous! They interact with you and treat as if you are their family making sure that you have the best experience when you come to Savannah. The food at the Inn is absolutely delicious starting with breakfast proceeding to the afternoon treats on the sideboard to the wine, fruit and cheese each evening. The Inn is a beautiful Victorian home and each room is beautiful. The bedding is so comfortable that you can't wait to get back to the inn to tuck in for the night. Teresa, the owner, is a lovely and endearing person that brings out the best in everyone she meets. She makes you feel as though you have known her for a lifetime. The Azalea Inn turned my husband into an avid bed and breakfast guy...we have made the Azalea Inn and Savannah a number one destination each year when we plan our vacations. The Inn was within walking distance of almost everything we chose to do.

A Romantic SE Asia meets the South

Recently, I decided to take my Thai wife on a trip to the USA. Usually our trips are very scheduled due to business meetings, but this trip we decided to leave it unscheduled and unscripted. Doing so, I decided to take my wife to her first "bed and breakfast" and to have her experience a true historic southern town. I selected the Azalea Inn and Gardens from the web, and couldn't be more happy. My Thai wife, Maew, was so enchanted that she has, for the first time, shown an interest in returning to the USA for more visits and longer stays. Even though we only stayed for one night, we wanted for more as there seemed to be so much more that we wanted to do...but that will be for next time. Of special note was the genuine warmth and hospitality what we felt from all the staff....and, since my wife loves animals, the additional attention that was played by "Joey" the resident mascot... If you want a return to a time where conversation, good food, wonderful surroundings indicated a way of life, then the Azalea Inn should be at the top of your list. I travel the world constantly, and have "never" found a place that I've enjoyed more. Dr. Paul Robere and Maew paul@robere.com Bangkok, Thailand

Savannah & Southern Hospitality

Recently spent 8 days at the Azalea Inn & Gardens. The accommodations were excellent, the staff very helpful, professional and friendly. The food was the best I had in Savannah. Would highly recommend this B & B to anyone. Hope to return someday soon!

Fabulous B&B in Savanna

Everything about our stay was wonderful! All of the staff were very helpful & offered great dinner recommendations. We arrived on our first night just in time for happy hour. It was nice to enjoy wine & appetizers with other guests. The location is great & there is plenty of parking. We were able to walk to everything. The breakfasts were great. My husband loved that they gave him a second plate of food each morning & the sweets they had out during the day. We stayed in the Sweet Olive room on the 1st floor, which had a little balcony over looking the pool. The linens were amazing! Teresa & all of the staff made us feel at home & we loved little Joey! We would definitely like to return again soon.

A much needed Romantic Getaway

Azalea Inn & Gardens Bed and Breakfast was a perfect fit for me and my husband. Far enough away from all the hustle and bustle, but close enough to enjoy walking through all the beautiful parks along the way. From the beautiful house, gardens, glorious linens, accommadations to the oustanding, delicious breakfasts and of course Joey (my favorite part of the stay, it was the most fabulous weekend!

Romantic Weekend in Savannah

We have stayed at Azalea Inn & Gardens twice; in the Huntingdon Garden and Forsyth rooms; and would happily stay again. The breakfasts and daily bakery items are really decadent, and made by chefs. The property is quiet and inviting. There is a great cafe around the corner, and the inn has its own parking lot. It is a close walk to downtown and located in a charming neighborhood. The innkeepers Teresa and Jake welcome you like family, and offer just the right amount of attentiveness.

Wonderful Romantic Stay

Our stay at the Azalea Inn and Gardens was a real pleasure. My husband and I have not had a vacation in a long time. So the Inn was a perfect get away. The staff and Teresa were so pleasant and always helpful when we had a question. We loved our room. All of her decorations are just beautiful. We really liked the sherry she had in the parlor. What a nice relaxing treat. And the breakfasts we had were absolutely marvelous. They really help if you have a special diet to go by. I could go on forever about what a great Inn this is. We highly recommend it. We can't wait to come back.

Great base for historic Savannah!

We just finished a three-day stay at the Azalea Inn and loved it! The room (Chinaberry Balcony) was lovely and had the added quirk of a balcony accessed by ducking through the window because doors were taxed when the Inn was first built. The staff was very friendly and helpful (especially Kimberly) and the little touches were extra special....like coffee, tea, sodas or water available anytime of the day or night; sherry in the parlor in the evening along with the nighly cookie or dessert - always delicious! The breakfasts were exceptional - which is, of course, one of the main reasons we go to B&Bs. The location was quiet but within easy walking distance of most of the historic distric - and it's air conditioned!. We will definitely return!

Peaceful, romantic getaway

This wonderful inn located in the historic district of Savannah is a great place to go for some peace and quiet. The staff is friendly and helpful and the breakfasts and afternoon desserts were superb. The rooms are beautifully done in the style of the original home. They are very comfortable and the rooms with a balcony are suggested.

Azalea Inn, May, 2012

Over a number of years, we have stayed at many B&Bs. We think the Azalea Inn & Gardens may be our favorite. Located on one block from the Historic District, we were pleased that the trolley drivers knew where it was and picked us up for our trolley tour. A lot of love and care went into the restoration on this B&B. The main dining room has a mural painted on the wall that depicts the history of Savannah. Upon close investigation, you will find faces that you will recognize. From our second story room, we had an excellent view of the pool which is surounded by a carefully attended botanical garden. Our bedroom was large and beautiful. We were pleased with the imagination and variety of the breakfasts, and the wine, cheese and crackers in the afternoon as well. Teresa was a wonderful host and we found the quality of the guests to be in keeping with the quality of the Inn. We spent the first two days of a ten day trip at the Azalea Inn and the only complaint we have is that we enjoyed the stay so much, the rest of the trip was a bit of a "let down." We would heartily recommend this be your home away from home in Savannah. Margaret and Wayne Arrington, Dallas, Texas

Honeymoon to remember

Anyone who travels to Savannah and doesn't stay at one of its beautiful inns needs their head examined! The problem is, Savannah has so many inns that choosing can seem an insurmountable task. I planned our honeymoon so I was a bit nervous every time we arrived at a new place - Would it be as good as the website promised? Would my (new) wife like it? One look at the Azalea when we pulled up outside and I knew I'd made the right choice. We stayed in the Gentlemen's Parlour, which was just perfect. A big comfy bed, a nice powerful shower, even a DVD player (we normally never even turn on the TV while travelling but couldn't resist borrowing Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil from the Inn's collection to watch when we came home stuffed full of she-crab soup one evening). Its Oriental decor was something different while at the same time fitting in perfectly with the eccentric details to be found elsewhere at the Inn (see the murals in the dining room!). The staff were both friendly and helpful. Erin prepared and served our breakfast daily (we chose to eat outside by the pool - it was shaded which meant we got all the warmth without the sunburn) and also recommended dinner options (she suggested The Pink House, which turned out to be the meal of the honeymoon). Teresa, the owner, was also very helpful in making suggestions for what we should do while in town. The location was great too - we parked our car in their lot and didn't go back to it once during our stay, it was so easy to walk everywhere we wanted from the Inn. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Azalea to anyone visiting Savannah, and if we're ever lucky enough to return to that beautiful town we'll surely be returning to this beautiful Inn.

Beautiful 1880's Victorian in the historic district!

We recently spent a couple days in Savannah and had the opportunity to enjoy the Azalea and all it had to offer. The house was beautifully maintained and all the rooms were private getaways. Kolin and Kim were wonderful hosts! Kolin's knowledge and friendliness was much appreciated. Kim's cooking was Amazing!!! I can't wait to go back to Savannah and will most surely stay at the Azalea again!

Relaxing romantic getaway!

Azalea Inn has it all!! It is beautiful, inviting, romantic ambiance as well as homey atmosphere and friendly owners and staff. The food is of gourmet quality and certainly as good or better than any of the restaurants. The pool is a plus and the gardens so enjoyable. I would advise anyone who has never stayed in a BandB before to stay in this one as there isn't a better one!!!!!! A Romantic Wedding Venue

Let me just put the bottom line up top... Stay at this wonderful bed and breakfast. My wife and I decided to get married in Savannah and did a lot of research before choosing. We settled on the Azalea Inn and what a great choice it was! We were greeted upon check-in by Kolin. He and Kimberly were the two employees that we had daily interaction with. Both of them are the best! Courteous, knowledgeable and willing to do anything within their power to make our stay pleasant. We had a total of 8 people staying there for our wedding and each of us were equally impressed. Everything was taken care of for the wedding from the flowers to the officiant. Kolin even baked our wedding cake! Each morning, we had a delicious breakfast (Kimberly is a chef and Kolin is a pastry chef). In the late afternoon, there was complimentary wine and cheese/crackers. Later on in the evening, there was a freshly baked pastry which was equally delicious. The entire inn is beautiful and the grounds are well kept. I could go on and on but I think you get the point. This place is #1 in our book and we plan on going back next year to celebrate our anniversary,

Grateful Getaway

My husband and I recently stayed at this B&B over the Veteran's day weekend. Not only did this establishment offer rooms for free to military active duty and veterans, but they offered an incredible buffet and delicious breakfast to their guests. This home is warm, inviting, elegant and run by a superb staff. They gave us a map filled with places to go get after dinner drinks and were beyond accommodating to our needs. The rooms were spacious; complete with fireplaces and the beds were from heaven! This experience was delightful and we are so thankful for Azalea Inn's generosity to servicemen. Thank you!

So romantic!

My husband and I stayed in the Live Oak Room – book this one if you can! – for our anniversary and stayed in Savannah for about four days. The staff of the inn was super-friendly and gave us great advice about what to do and where to eat (and being food snobs, this was especially helpful). Nevermind the food outside the inn, breakfast every morning was delicious! The room was clean and super-comfortable. The location is fabulous; not even a mile to the riverfront, and everything you could want is in between. This is a beautiful, beautiful place with wonderful, sweet people and I'm so glad I was able to spend time with my husband at such a place. Go, go, go to the Azalea Inn!
