Simply The Best

We just returned from an awesome one night 'get away' at the Mulberry Inn... Must say we were absolutely delighted with our choice. We made this choice, simply by the web site and hoped it was as good as it looked on line. IT WAS!!! This Inn has to be the coolest, cleanest and most peaceful B and B we have ever visited and we have been to many. Not your normal musty, dusty, sometimes creepy, buggy bed and breakfast, but a new property with the feel of an old..It is a wonderful place and we can't wait to return. Thank you Donald and Gloria, you guys are great!

Very suprised

The rooms are nice and clean. I was very surprised that the owners were not more friendly. When we have stayed at other B&B the owners would talk with us.The only time we saw Don was at check-in and at breakfast. His wife only appeared to ring a bell for breakfast only to ask us if we stayed in that room. Only the bedrooms and a living area was available to guest the rest of the house was closed to guest. One last comment Don told us that they did not have bottle water (that was ok ) but the problem with that is we did not have access to ice because the ice was in their part of the house.

Management Response
We regret that this guest felt that he/she did not have as much interaction with the innkeepers as he/she might have wished. With 10 rooms, we often only have a few minutes to meet and greet our guests, direct them to their rooms, give them maps of the area, suggest places to dine, and show them where breakfast is served and where we keep the complimentary drinks, chips and homemade cookies. When we are not meeting and greeting, we have other innkeeper responsibilities which may keep us out of sight: baking, gardening and mowing, shopping for breakfast, laundry, ironing, bookkeeping, and, as this guest states, keeping “the rooms nice and clean.” The innkeepers’ private living quarters, kitchen, and laundry room are not part of the public space and, yes, they were closed to this guest and all other guests we have hosted in the past 12 years. Guests are free to make themselves at home in their rooms and in the inn’s common area, a library-hall that is 55-feet long and includes comfortable seating around a fireplace and three porches. Ice buckets and ice are available on request; the innkeepers may be reached by ringing the bell on the office door. We do not stock bottled water because Jefferson’s water is fine and bottled water is not a green choice. We try our best to meet the needs of our guests, but realize that it is impossible to please everyone. Gloria and Donald Degn
