Wedding

I visited the inn for a family wedding and I can't wait to return with my husband for our own romantic getaway! Cheryl, Chip and Teddy (resident pup) were extremely accommodating. I have dietary issues and felt well cared for at breakfast each morning.

A Lovely Inn

A warm welcome and a walk through the exquisite garden refreshed us after a long day. We enjoyed the beautiful room, the kindness of the innkeepers, and the delicious breakfast.

A magical place!

We enjoyed our stay at Pennsbury Inn more than we can ever express in writing. Our favorite memory of our too short visit was the hours we spent lazing in the gardens, just taking in the birdsong and flowers and sunshine. It is a magical place! We were both totally overwhelmed by Pennsbury and felt like we were visiting old dear friends for a couple of days... plus I really liked the breakfast pizza! Also, the tip on visiting Nemours was spot on... it was amazing and now we want to come back and visit other DuPont homes and gardens. We have told everybody who has asked about our weekend away that your place is the best B&B ever, so don't be surprised if you get some more visitors from south of the Mason-Dixon line. We can't wait to come back ourselves, we just need to figure out when we can get away again. Thanks again for a wonderful unforgettably lovely visit.

Extras made it special

The owners of the Pennsbury Inn made it extra special for our anniversary. Without even asking for it, a beautiful tray arrived while we were out to dinner, with a split of champagne, a balloon, chocolates and a lovely book on loving well into old age. My husband and I were richly blessed by this lovely display.

Romantic Rendezvous at Pennsbury

As artists who have a tradition of celebrating our anniversary at ONLY romantic destinations, we carefully plan our yearly vacations. Cheryl and Chip were 100% respectful in accommodating our wishes for some alone time, and bent over backwards to make us feel at home in their sensational inn. We spent four nights in a gorgeous, cozy room at Pennsbury in May . . . a perfect time of year to visit the Longwood Gardens and Brandywine Museum! Cheryl's scrumptious breakfasts energized us 'til late afternoon when we would return to rest and reflect in her stunning gardens. What other inn would deliver champagne, chocolates and a balloon for our last night's celebration. Passion abounded in their love for the inn, the grounds, the food and hospitality. We wish we didn't live so far away!

A Reunion

A B&B with all the comforts of home. Seven of us high school girlfriends (all in our seventies) met to spend two nights in Cheryl, Chip and Teddy's lovely nostalgic inn. The breakfast's were yummy and the lush bedrooms were so comfortable. We enjoyed the views of the beautiful gardens (even tho it rained the whole two days) and the charm of our very own private living room! The Innkeepers are most accommodating and Teddy joined right in with us. Cozy and charming, they gave us free run to admire the many interesting decorations and enjoy the time together. Just delightful! Excellent service.

Breakfast

My sister and I recently stayed at Pennsbury Inn at Chadd's Ford, Pa. It was a wonderful, enchanting experience. The only drawback, was that the proprietor's breakfasts were not to be missed and because they were so good, there's a little extra weight around my middle. Oh, but worth it. Cheryl our inn hostess made us feel welcome, cozy and well cared for. Every home comfort was at hand. Her gardens were so beautiful. I would love to go back.

Romantic Gardens, Historic Home

My spouse and I recently enjoyed our first wedding anniversary at this wonderfull bed and breakfast nestled off of Route 1 in Chads Ford. We stayed two nights in the original home built in 1714, we enjoyed a living room and upstairs bedroom. The Inkeepers Cheryl and Chip are warm, friendly folk. Cheryl served up a delicious full _ with fresh herbs from their garden- breakfast each moring. Their 8 acres have ponds with fountains, plenty of large trees, and well maintained bushes, flowers, birds chirping, frogs by the ponds; a relaxing garden with benches, and chairs to relax inn, gaze at the stars above. Nearby places - Brandywine Battlefield, Brandywine Museum, Wintheur, Newlin Gristmill, etc.

Beautiful Retreat

My best friend and I were traveling on my book tour and made this inn one of our stops — I'm so glad we did. Every detail of this stay was ideal, from the lovely garden, the comfortable bed, the fascinating and humorous historical tour of the house, the breakfast. I would definitely send someone unfamiliar with bed and breakfasts here so that they could see what the perfect bed and breakfast experience is. We stayed in the Winterthur suite, which was lush and large, with a great view of the grounds. My only regret? That we could only stay here one night.

Birthday weekend well spent

My boyfriend and I just returned from the Pennsbury Inn and had the best of times. We spent only one night for his birthday but enjoyed our stay fully. We were greeted with the kindest service and given a very interesting and informative tour about the inn and its history, then we went to Longwood Gardens (only a stone's throw away) and had a lovely time watching the lights. When we returned later that night from dinner mysterious cake pieces and a birthdat candle and balloon showed up on a sweet little tray on the bed in our room (such a nice touch since it was his birthday). Chip and Cheryl were so friendly and accommodating and breakfast the next morning was even more wonderful. Chip made egg wraps (DELICIOUS) and all of the homemade jams and jellies were just wonderful. Even though it was very cold outside we spent a little time wandering around the grounds before we left and couldn't have found a more romantic spot. DEFINITELY STAY HERE IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING EXTRA SPECIAL!

The Perfect Mini Vacation

My husband and I recently stayed for 3 nights during the week for a mini vacation. It was the most relaxing and carefree trip I have ever had! There were so many little extras beyond what I expected. Of course the breakfasts were wonderful, but a delightful night time snacks..like fresh strawberry shortcake, or fresh bread pudding, were surprising and delightful. Very clean, lots of personality, lovely gardens and sitting nooks throughout the house. I would, and will, go back for another visit.

Mother-Daughter getaway

My daughter and I just spent two nights at this lovely inn. The room was quaint and very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and we are so grateful to Chip for serving us early this morning so we could make our flights. Loved the little bedtime snacks and the turn down service was a lovely touch. You must stay here if you love gardens! We definitely didn't stay long enough to fully enjoy all they had to offer. Cheryl and Chip, we thank you so much and hope to come back and visit again
