Apple French Toast

Description:
Apple French Toast with carmel sauce, served warm with apples and brown sugar, very popular and different dish for breakfast

Ingredients:
4 large cored and peeled apples, 1 cup light brown sugar, 1 stick butter, 2 tablespoons light Karo syrup, 3 eggs, 1 cup milk, 8 slices French bread, 2 tablespoons vanilla.

Directions:
Melt 1 slick of butter in saucepan with 1 cup brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons light Karo. Cook 2-3 min. til bubbley. Pour into a lightly greased 13 x 9 pan. Peel, core, and slice 4 large apples and arrange over the brown sugar mixture in pan. Slightly beat 3 eggs and add 2 tablespoons of vanilla and 1 cup milk. Dip slices of French bread into egg milk mixture making sure each slice is soaked. Arrange on top of apples in pan. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake 350 uncovered for 35-40 minutes. To serve, invert each slice so apples and carmel sauce are on top. Makes 4 servings of 2 slices each.
