Baked Cardamon And Marmalade French Toast
Description:
Simple yet elegant dish for a buffet brunch Ingredients: 1 1/4 c. orange marmalade, loaf egg bread cut into 1" slices, 1 1/4 c. whole milk, 3/4 c. heavy cream, 1/2 c. sugar, 3 egg yolks, 3 whole eggs, 1 1/4 tsp. cardamon, 1tsp. grated orange peel 1 tsp. grated lemon peel. Powdered sugar. Directions: Butter a 15 by 10 by 2" glass baking dish. Spread marmalade overboth sides of bread slices. Cut bread into triangles and arrange overlapping in dish. Whisk milk and next 7 ingredients in a large bowl. Pour custard over bread and let stand covered in fridge overnight. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees and bake uncovered for 50 minutes until golden and puffy.
