CornbreadDescription: This is the cornbread James' grandmother used to make. Use a cast iron muffin pan greased with lard for the best flavor. Ingredients: 2 cups cornmeal 1 1/2 cups buttermilk 1/4 cup vegetable oil 1 egg 2 tbsp butter 1 tbsp salt Directions: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Whisk together cornmeal, buttermilk, oil, egg, and salt to make batter. Melt the butter in a cast iron skillet or other form pan at medium heat. Coat all cooking surfaces. Let butter heat until it just begins to smell toasted. Pour in batter. Place skillet or pan in oven, bake until golden brown, about 25 – 30 minutes. Please add Cornbread photo attached.
