Lemon Loaf

Absolutely delicious

8 oz butter
2 cups sugar
grated rind of 2 lemons
1 cup flour
handful poppy seeds
2 t baking powder
l t salt
l cup milk
1/2 cup sugar dissolved in juice of 2 lemons

Cream butter & sugar. Add eggs and lemon rind, beat well. Sift dry ingredients, add alternately with milk. Bake in 2-3 small or 1 medium loaf pan. Drizzle lemon-sugar mixture over pricked loaves.
