Panetone French Toast

Italian Christmas Delight - our guests rave about the unique idea of making this delicious breakfast bread into rich and satisfying French (Italian?) toast.

1 loaf holiday Italian panetone bread.
vanilla or cinnamon
Powdered sugar garnish
Maple Syrup (real)

Remove baking wrapper from panetone bread. Slice into wedges (8 - 10 per loaf).
Beat eggs with milk, sugar, and add vanilla or cinnamon.
Soak panetone wedges in egg mixture until saturated (5 minutes).
Cook on a hot griddle until nicely browned.
Dust with powdered sugar.
Serve with real maple syrup and breakfast meat.
