Lovely and Amazing

We had a glorious stay at The Olde Savannah Inn this past November. The Inn keeper, Kathleen and lovely Dakota (best Lab around), made us feel right at home. The Inn (and Kathleen) is elegant, warm and welcoming. From the moment we were dropped off by the taxi till we left 4 days later; Kathleen made sure we were well looked after and cared for. The room was delightful and the breakfasts sumptuous. Each afternoon we were greeted with bottles of water and sweet baklava with wine in the evening. Kathleen always had great restaurant recommendations and advice on where to go and what to see. We can't wait to go back and visit Savannah and most importantly the Olde Savannah Inn.

Dont Miss This Experience

On the way from Miami to Charleston, several years ago, my husband and I stopped in Savannah for breakfast. We found that little taste of the City so charming that we planned to go back sometime and really explore the City. “Sometime” presented itself this year in the form of a trip we wanted to take for my birthday. We looked at many accommodations and selected The Olde Savannah Inn. What a wonderful choice!! This Inn is located in a beautiful residential area that is within a 10 to 15 minute walking distance of wonderful restaurants and sights. The Inn has 4 rooms, all different and all beautifully appointed with antiques and interesting furnishings that the Innkeeper, Kathleen, has collected and carefully placed. We chose the Versailles room, which I think may be the largest suite in the Inn, complete with a jet spa (with changing colors) that was so comforting after a day of walking from one end of town to the other! All the rooms have gas fireplaces, hardwood floors, luxurious bedding and perhaps best of all, a breakfast with food so delicious and innovative it is hard to find the right words. My husband is on a gluten-free diet that Kathleen was not only able to accommodate, but made it so delicious that I elected to have the same thing! Kathleen will give you the low-down on what to do and what to avoid, such as restaurant and tour suggestions (we did what she suggested and found them all superlative). For my birthday, Kathleen made a tray of chocolate covered strawberries accompanied by a bottle of wine. So thoughtful, so lovely, soooo delicious!! And how can any account of The Olde Savannah Inn be complete without mention of Dakota, Kathleen’s beautiful black Lab. Dakota is a kind and gentle soul who is always there to greet you And you will be his best friend forever if you share some of your breakfast bacon with him!!!!

Oh My God, the Olde Savannah Inn

Wow, the Olde Savannah Inn: As an African American couple, we have somewhat struggled with the B&B experience, we are usually welcome but not really welcome, anyway where do I start: We fell in love with he Olde Savannah Inn, It was superbly clean and the breakfast will send you to heaven and the ambiance was magnificent. This saying a lot because we are not easily impressed, but we just floored by the whole experience. Our room was the beautiful first floor garden room, you have your own private entry from the garden where you can sit and have coffee or tea, but did I mention clean. Kathleen is the hostess with the mostest. She baked huge to die for chocolatey chip cookies. She is a kindred in spirit and a beautiful soul. She truly made our stay awesome and one of the greatest B&B experience we've had. Kathleen truly has gifted hands and a love to serve her guest from a heart that loves her profession. We are not pet lovers but Dakota was a sweetheart and I can not image having the same feel at the Inn without his presence. Ron & Lori Schererville, IN

The Best B&B In Savannah

Having stayed at many b&b's throughout the Northeast, my wife and I were awe struck and incredibly impressed with the Olde Savannah Inn and its owner and innkeeper Kathleen. The house is gorgeous top to bottom, inside and out. Kathleen has exquisite taste and it shows in her choice of decor and furnishings. Kathleen and her inn are the epitomy of southern charm and hospitality. Once you get there you will never want to leave. From the scrumptous homemade breakfasts every morning, to the homemade cookies and bottled water left in your room, to the top quality linens which are hand ironed by the way. We loved the fireplace in our room and the steam shower. The best was so comfortable. I slept like a baby. The inn is centraly located and we walked everywhere. We loved this inn so much we are going back in May. You at the Olde Savannah Inn.

Romantic & Beautiful

We booked the Renaissance room at The Olde Savannah Inn for 4 nights. We were greeted with a warm hug from Innkeeper, Kathleen. The Olde Savannah Inn has all of Kathleen’s wonderful touches. The Inn is filled with her special touches which include stunning antiques and art, 10 foot mirrors, marble bathrooms, fireplaces and beautiful chandeliers. Amazing! Kathleen prepared a fantastic 4 course breakfast each morning. This delicious breakfast will definitely hold you until dinner. Accenting the breakfast was delicious French press coffee, fruit cup, cheddar grits and a special brown sugar-infused bacon and sausage. Her special vanilla cream topping for waffles and pancakes was better than ice cream. The blueberry pancakes were my favorite. Did I mention you can skip lunch? To me the beds and a good night’s sleep are vital components to a hotel or Inn. Kathleen has equipped her beds with firm mattresses and 800 thread count Egyptian linens with down pillows and blankets. This comfortable bed was a great place to collapse after a long day of walking the streets of Savannah. Our bathroom was spacious and beautiful with a nice array of lotions and toiletries. Kathleen has connections to all the restaurants and tours and set us up with a few including a 4 hour cooking class around the corner that was a blast! She also arranged a horse carriage ride through town. Lovely! The Inn is a block away from Forsythe Park which is a great place to run or walk amongst the beautiful trees and water fountain. Kathleen is one of the kindest people we have ever met. In the afternoons she prepared yummy fresh cookies, pound cake and a special cherry bread complimented with her homemade sweet tea or a glass of wine. We have fond memories of Savannah thanks to the generous hospitality of Kathleen and her beautiful Inn. She has created a wonderful sanctuary for visitors to Savannah. She will treat you like family and you will feel like family. It is the nicest B&B we have ever visited!

A class act- a romantic getaway!

My husband and I just return from three fabulous nights at the Olde Savannah Inn. We both cannot say enough about this beautiful Inn, the service, our accommodations, the food, and the grounds. However, what made our visit most special was definitely the owner-Kathleen. She spoke to me on numerous occasions before our arrival helping to plan the perfect trip, discussing airport pick up, rooms, tours, dinner reservations, carriage rides and the list is never ending. Upon our arrival, she handed us each a glass of her "special tea" and made us feel right at home. She prides herself on keeping a spotless Inn and it shows. We were in the "Provence" room and loved that we had our own entrance out to the front. The sheets and towels were heavenly, the room clean, and the shower great. During the late afternoon, I especially enjoyed relaxing with a good book on either porch while sipping wine and munching on her special snacks. A turned down bed and a luscious treat met us nightly after we returned from a delicious dinner (thanks to her recommendation.) Each breakfast was to die for- sinfully rich! A few of our favorite items were the caramelized bacon and rum sugar sausage, martini glasses overflowing with fresh fruit, raspberry chocolate Belgium waffles with wonderful whipped cream. We tasted both cheese and shrimp grits, stuffed pears with brie, raspberry sauce, and walnuts, French toast and eggs- this is just a sampling! The best part of our trip was meeting Kathleen and her darling dog Dakota. After a long day around the city, we always wanted to come "home." This is why this Inn is so special. Stop now- book this Inn - you will have a unique stay and meet a wonderful new friend. B & R-9/08

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

My mother in law and I stayed at the Olde Savannah Inn on our girl's weekend and we absolutely loved it. Wonderful location, beautiful inn, immaculate, luxurious. The Olde Savannah Inn delivers not only comfort and luxury but also on charm. Kathleen made our stay unbelievably memorable. Kathleen went out of her way to make sure we were not only comfortable but that we were well taken care of. We stayed in the Bellevue room and it was so wonderful. The linens were incredible and the spa robes and slippers were so nice to slip into after a hot bath. Our room was so comfortable and luxurious. Our breakfasts were amazing!!! Kathleen spoiled us everyday with hot, gourmet breakfasts like apple wood smoked bacon, grits, cheddar biscuits, French pressed coffee, and fritatta. Everything was so wonderful and Kathleen is so gracious and showed us true hospitality. We also enjoyed wine under a palm tree in the courtyard one night and thoroughly enjoyed the warm Savannah weather while we sipped our wine and relaxed by the water fountain. We also really enjoyed the wine social on Saturday night. Kathleen does everything 110 to make her Inn comfortable, her guests comfortable, and your stay memorable. Kathleen is a wonderful hostess and the Olde Savannah Inn is absolutely gorgeous. We had an amazing weekend at the Olde Savannah Inn.

Men, THIS IS THE PLACE......

Okay guys I understand your plight. You have been searching for a very special place. One that will make her hug you tight around the neck and love you for being so thoughtful. If The Olde Savannah Inn is within your price range Book it RIGHT NOW. Then get to bed and know she WILL be impressed. If it's a little above your price range BOOK IT ANYWAY. You'll only take her to Savannah for the first time once. THIS is what she's expecting. (If your honey is reading this then SHE should book it right now...don't wait for your husband to approve...this is how he wants to spoil you, some of us just need a little help sometimes). I was distraught about this time last year looking for hours for the absolute knock-your-socks off kinda place to take my wife for our twentieth anniversary. But...I did not find the Olde Savannah Inn in time. No...I thought I was going to impress my bride a few doors down. The other place was okay. But, walking past the clean bright entrance to the Olde Savannah Inn we thought we'd pop-in for a quick hello and maybe sneak a tour. Liitle did we know Kathleen, the Inn owner, would greet us as if we were staying. She offered us dessert, wine and friendly conversation. It was late and felt we may be over staying our welcome, but as we were leaving, she invited us over for breakfast. In the late morning everyone had checked out so we got to check-out all the rooms. WOW! Read the other reviews for details...just WOW!! Kathleen was so down to earth, but don't confuse that with her not making everything in her inn High-End and Perfect. GUYS please, you know we will search for hours to make sure it's the right place. I've done that already. THIS is the RIGHT PLACE. If she doesn't LOVE IT she's not breathing. Kathleen, Thank You...when we return to Savannah you will be our ONLY choice. We will change our dates if we have to to stay at your place. Oh yeah guys, you're wondering about location. Its great...stop stalling. Book It Right Now. Why is it so great...Kathleen. And funny enough, there's only one of her in Savannah.

Exquisite

This was our second visit with Kathleen. This time we had our daughters, ages 10 and 14. Everyone loves the Inn and we had such a wonderful time. The food is wonderful. Kathleen makes evreyone feel like part of her family. We now consider her a part of our family. We plan to return to Savannah and we will only stay at The Olde Savannah Inn with Kathleen.

Best B&B in Savannah!

Nov 4, 2011 We really enjoyed our stay at this B&B and thought that Kathleen was a wonderful innkeeper. My husband and I called last minute for a last minute get away for our 5th anniversary. We arrived to a glass of wine and wonderful conversation with kathleen! She made us feel right at home! The room was amazing with a beautiful jacuzzi tub as your focal point once walking into your room. She had fresh baked cookies and a warm fire in our room, which made such an romantic setting! The room was breathe taking! Kathleen does a very good job of making you feel at home & provides a very good experience of Savannah. The inn is located in a very convenient area in walking distance of everything. Only a block or two away from anything. I forgot my jacket and Kathleen was so kind and gave me hers to walk to dinner! We woke up to the smell of fresh English press coffee (which I had never had before)and bacon! Yum! I wanted to stay in the great tub and enjoy my coffee because Kathleen provided these incredable caviar bath oil beads!(amazing) my husband quickly said let's go! Breakfast looks amazing! I thought to myself... Geez MEN! It's all about FOOD! I'm so glad I went down to enjoy Kathleen's breakfast! One that we will never forget! Coffee, juice, sausage, bacon, a beautiful Fruit parfait in a champaign glass. Then to top it off Kathleen's homemade apple cinnamon pancakes sprinkled with powdered sugar and a scoop of her homemade ice cream! To die for! We really enjoyed our stay and next time we will leave the children for the weekend so we can stay with Kathleen for a longer stay! Thanks again for the fantastic stay! The Gills

Ode to Olde Savannah Inn

We had the most wonderful visit to Savannah because of Kathleen and The Olde Savannah Inn! The inn is in a wonderful location - adjacent to the beautiful Forsythe Park. We have been to many beautiful B & B's but The Olde Savannah Inn ranks at the top as does the innkeeper, Kathleen! She is a one-of-a-kind innkeeper...she is the "hostess with the mostest!" She decorated her home with exquisite furnishings and and the Versailles Court room is "to die for!" This room has the most eloquent bathroom I have ever seen! A jacuzzi tub, claw footed soaking tub and a claw footed shower. I felt like a Roman Goddess in that bathroom! Kathleen's gourmet breakfasts are as wonderful as her beautiful breakfast room that you are served in! I want to thank Kathleen for our wonderful, relaxing visit to Savannah and let her know how much we enjoyed meeting the passionate, caring woman that makes The Olde Savannah Inn so special! We love you Kathleen and wish you the very best!

ROMANTIC SAVANNAH

To begin my wife and I have enjoyed the Bed and Breakfast experience for over Twenty-Three years. From isolated cottages on the Great Lakes Islands, to the shimmering sands of Florida. But recently we experienced "One of our finest B&B experiences." When we parked our vehicle beneath the Live Oaks with draped Spanish Moss. And walked up the steps to the Inn we knew this was Savannah. Kathleen greeted us and introduced us to Mr. Cooper a Two year old Rescued Beagle. His soft Brown eyes let you know this was a safe and comfortable place to rest; As he did in his overstuffed chair. Kathleen directed us to the rear of the Inn where we would park our SUV in a private court yard, safely behind large wooden gates. Then we were invited to sit down and enjoy a glass of fine wine. She then shared with us her knowledge of Savannah. And how a lady from Massachusetts arrived in Savannah. And how she became the Owner, Inn Keeper, and Chef of the Olde Savannah Inn. Our bed was comfortable and we were lulled to sleep by the soft sound of cascading water from the fountain just outside our door in the adjoining court yard. In the morning promptly at 9:00 AM we went upstairs to the dining room. The dining room could be a scene right out of Gone with the Wind. There before us were tables covered in white, set with china, crystal and silver. The added touch were lit candles set in the center of the individual tables. Above were glimmering crystal chandeliers. First was a goblet of assorted fruits with a small dusting of powdered sugar. Just the proper amount for added sweetness. The coffee was prepared in an English Coffee Press. Next was served a Belgian Waffle. It was One like you have never experienced. It dinner plate size, over an inch thick. Covered with fresh strawberries topped with Kathleen's home made whipped cream. The cream was so cool and tasty One could confuse it for vanilla ice cream. With this Entrée was a serving of Applewood smoked bacon and sausage. This was undoubtedly "The Best Dining Experience we have enjoyed at a Bed and Breakfast. " I recommend you contact Kathleen at the Olde Savannah inn and make a reservation. When you arrive you will be greeted by Kathleen. Say, Hi to Mr. Cooper

Inappropriate Innkeeper

While the lodging and food were both nice, the demeanor of the innkeeper made both myself and my husband uncomfortable. The staff should refrain from criticizing other guests publicly.
