Anniversary getaway

My husband booked a 5 day getaway to Pennsylvania for our wedding anniversary. He chose Wedgewood Inn for its location in New Hope. We loved its proximity to downtown New Hope, the Bucks county Playhouse and all the restaurants and live music venues. But we loved the inns spectacular grounds with flowering gardens Gazebos.

All over

We all had a most wonderful stay here. Our families from Puerto Rico, New York and Wisconsin all met in New Hope to celebrate our marriage. The staff was expert in arranging group outings and reserving private dining at area restaurants. We appreciate the warm hospitality.

Rest. Assuredly.

We had a delightful 4 day visit and we had your delicious breakfast each morning and full days of outdoor activities. We were warmly greeted each night by our cordial innkeeper and offered fresh-baked cookies right out of the oven, We really appreciated the comfortable beds and well-appointed guest rooms.

Modern amenities. Historic inn, Fabulous Wifi

While we enjoyed our getaway we still had to stay in touch with the sitter, work, etc and your FIOS wifi was the best! We had a strong signal not only in our accommodations, but in the Common Rooms and outside by the patio too! The flat screen tv and quiet air conditioner were welcomed too. The French victorian-era bed was beautiful; even better, it was converted to a queen-size! loved it here!

Best location; a true delight

Umpleby House has a great location: in-town yet on peaceful acreage with lovely gardens and chairs and gazebos to enjoy the colorful trees and gardens. Even better are their well-appointed guest accommodations. And best of all are the knowledgeable innkeepers ever ready to assist with a smile, yet not obtrusive. A true delight.

Best Bucks County inn

Travelling with another couple, we were delighted with our three day stay at Umpleby. Beautiful property, even in February! The garden beds had already been edged. Daffadills and Crocus plants were 3 inches tall already too. The warm days were followed by much cooler nights and we made good use of our in-room gas fireplace. Our queen sized Brass bed was very comfortable and lavishly appointed with 4 pillows, a warm blanket plus a beautiful quilt-like bed spread.

Superb!

Nadine and Carl exemplify Pennsylvania hospitality at its best! As Virginian's traveling for the first time to colonial Bucks County, we didn't quite know what to expect. But New Hope and even Lambertville, just across the river ( in New Jersey!!!) were very friendly and welcoming. Tho the best hospitality was served at Wedgewood Inn. Smilling faces and other happy guests made for a very pleasant stay. Superb lodging and dining .and loved our Fireplace Room with its own porch.

Splendid!

A pleasant surprise; we were referred to this charming historic inn by our wait staff in Philadelphia. Right off I-95, New Hope is an lively artsy river town that we never heard of and Wedgwood Inn is a super place to stay. Walk everywhere in New Hope, and even in its sister river town, Lambertville. These Virginians will be back!

A delightful stay.

We appreciated your genuine interest in our enjoying our getaway at your B&B. Loved the four poster bed and wing back chairs by our in-room fireplace. all three restaurant recommendations were Excellent! The new community Music Mountain Theater was also excellent. "Hairspray" was an entertaining Wednesday night. Thursday at the late night Broadway Show tunes Piano Bar at Bowman's Tavern was hilarious! Live music at Havana's was just as fun. And good food too. Sun-filled chilly and colorful November days and cold nights for snuggling in your romantic accommodations; Great! We hope to see you again this summer when we bring our son to Princeton University.

Best Romantic inn

I felt like a queen in my King sized bed with fireplace! The porch overlooking the back acres and "Manchester Valley" were a kaleidascope of Fall colors. Now i understand why the wide wood flooring in my room was called "pumpkin-pine". Your helpful staff and warm hospitality, with a delicious 3 course breakfast made our stay here the highlight of our visit up North.

Thank you for creating such a peaceful, relaxing and yes, romantic setting. Our accommodations exceeded our expectations. 1992-2017: 25 years of your hospitality!

We cant believe this visit marks the 25th year that we have been coming to stay here. It all began with our 10th wedding anniversary vacation in 1992 when we first stayed at Umpleby. We were struck by your warm hospitality and friendly atmoshere. That and your attention to detail and cleanliness, and great breakfasts, have kept us returning these past 25 years!

Terrific

We hopped across the Delaware River to Pennsylvania for a Sunday night out-on-the-town, our first since our toddler was born, and stayed overnight in a Jacuzzi Suite at Umpleby House Inn. Perfect! Two miles from our house yet 'far away'. We appreciated the early Breakfast Tray Monday morning: we were back home at 6 am! Thank you for pampering us for 24 hours!

I love Mr. Black

I am a non-believer. Nonetheless, i want to thank Mr. Black, once the Foreman of the gristmills behind Umpleby House Inn, for finding and returning my lost keys. Or maybe you took them in the first place??? Anyway, i was comforted to know you still roam these hallways and do "locked door" checks on your nightly rounds. I fely very comforfable and safe in your presence. And you cook a great breakfast too!

A Loving Inn

Less than 30 miles north of Philadelphia, we drove to New Hope for a 3 day "stayCation" and found New Hope at Umpleby House Inn. From the loving welcome to the delicious Cookies & Tea served upon our arrival to the lovely breakfast served in the morning, Dinie and her staff have created a loving atmoshphere. So close to Philly, yet light years away.

New England in New Hope, Penna.

We just loved the East Coast experience at Wedgewood. The green rolling hills and fieldstone fences and farmhouses of Bucks County are so different from Texas. And your Covered Bridges! We appreciated your warm hospitality and expert knowledge of "what to do and what to see".

Another lovely visit

We had another lovely visit to your New Hope inn.. We will spread the word back in Westchester the old fashioned way: around the watercooler at work! Umpleby is a very attractive Bucks County manor house and gardens. Delicious breakfast. Genuine hospitality. We certainly enjoyed our 4 day stay with you. Hope to return to New Hope very soon. Your attention to detail is exceeded only by your warmth and graciousness. Dinie and Carl make a great innkeeper couple! Friendly and knowledgeable, they openly share their love for New Hope and Lambertville. And that's why we stayed an extra night. Plus the food is delectable.

Summertime in September

We came from Philly to experience Fall in New Hope and got 90 degree weather for 3 days! But it all worked out: we rolled up our long sleeves and kyaked in the Delaware River, picked apples and pumpkins at area farms and took a Murder Mystery dinner ride on the New Hope Steam Train. Thanks to the Umpleby staff for providing excellent concierge services.

loved my private porch!

Yes, we live 2 miles away, but took a staycation while our wood floors were being refinished. And glad we did; we love it here! My spacious 3rd floor room (9) had a King bed and a Franklin Stove fireplace, fridge and microwave. And the porch was the best! Comfortable table and chairs and an umbrella was perfect for early morning coffee and late night sip of brandy. Highly recommend! Fran and Glenn Village 2

Classic Bucks county inn

We had a marvelous time last week at New Hope's Umpleby House inn. The victorian private porch off our bedroom was the best! We took our morning coffee and late night wine there every day. Nice people. Friendly staff. Very convenient location close to town with its own onsite parking and large property which is part of Wedgwood Inn.

Although our 3rd visit here, this was the first time we stayed in the separate Carriage House behind Umpleby. And we loved it! The Great Room was perfect for lounging during the days, and the second floor bedroom with its huge white-wicker-filled covered porch ideal for night moves.

6 nights of American hospitality

Thank you for a wonderful welcoming stay. And thank you for supporting the New Hope Film Festival. Maybe we should co-produce a "Greet the Film makers Tea" for next year's Film Festival? I appreciate all the little touches at Umpleby House. And i am grateful for assisting me on my first visit to America. Erika So Africa

We Loved Historic New Hope, PA

We loved the sense of history, and of place, that New Hope has. Especially the Wedgwood Inn ; colonial - era stone foundation, encampment site for Washington's Continental Army, and more! Carl is an avocational historian and is filled with fun facts and local tales. Both New Hope and its sister city, Lambertville, NJ, are small riverside places filled with small shops, antique stores and art galleries and fine restaurants. a bonus is the exciting nightlife!

iPad charger returned!

Jessica, Thank you very much for mailing back my charger and cord. I have done extensive travel the last 20 years and this is the first time a hotel / inn called and mailed back a lost item! I'd expect this kind of customer service here: you and your staff provide outstanding service and authentic hospitality at Umpleby House. Donna and i had a wonderful weekend. Continued success.

From Florida, With Love

We are so happy our New Jersey family recommended that we spend a few days in New Hope, Pennsylvania during our recent visit "up North".And your Umpleby House Inn was the perfect spot to stay and walk into town and Lambertville, NJ too. We loved our porch and its view of "Manchester Valley". Next visit to New York we are going to look for the painting in the American Wing.

Lovely town, romantic inn

Thank you for offering such beautiful and romantic accommodations in your historic inn. The orange-yellow pumpkin pine floors are gorgeous! Lots of fluffy pillows, comfortable bedding and floral towels and more. The French Victorian bed ( Queen-size) was magnificent. We shopped and biked all day and had 2 great meals at night at 2 different riverfront restaurants in New Hope; The Landing and Martine's. Bonus: what a night life in New Hope; "Desert City" at the Bucks County Playhouse and Marshall Crenshaw played at Havanna's . All walking distance from the Inn.

Fantastic inn, destination

We had so much fun on our first visit to New Hope & Lambertville. And Umpleby House has a perfect location to walk to everything these twin rivertowns have to offer, plus its got beautiful grounds and free onsite parking! Our second floor room had a porch, and we had morning coffee and late night wine there. The room (#7) itself was bright and airy and had a brass queen bed, fireplace, and a full bathroom. A big breakfast was available every morning next door at its sister property, Wedgwood Inn.

An oasis of grace and charm (since 1989 for us!)

The #UmplebyHouse bed & breakfast inn is the most wonderful and relaxing lodging places. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you....for the kindnesses and warm hospitality you and your staff have extended to us and our families over the past 30 years. Umpleby and Wedgwood Inn are two very special places: an oasis of grace and charm.

Large porch, larger Jacuzzi Tub

Even thought its December, we thoroughly enjoyed our large private porch off our bedroom. Early morning coffee and late night drinks; its was great! But even better; our 2 person Jacuzzi across from our bed and in-room Fireplace!

A beautiful space

Dear Housekeeping & Wedgwood Inn innkeepers, Thank you so much for providing us with a beautiful space, every day! We appreciate all the small things that you do (oftentimes behind the scenes) . You made our 5 day stay effortless. From fresh towels to cleaning our outdoor trash basket, to making dinner and theater reservations for us, we appreciate your attention to detail,

Longterm stay hugh success.

I really enjoyed my 18 day stay at Wedgwood Inn's Umpleby House. It made a difficult job assignment a bearable experience. Besides a very clean and comfortable hotel, all the staff were friendly and helpful and very knowledgable of the greater New Hope area. My early breakfasts and late night requests and other special needs were all met with grace and charm. I cant wait to return with my spouse when we relocate to the area.

InnSide Tip - Great selection of teas and sugars
this is an example of the details that this inn gets right. A wide and varied selection of teas to chose from; both herbal and decaffeinated. Plus 5 types of sugar/sweeteners too.
