Description
Circa 1856. Antiques from nine different countries decorate the home. The guest rooms are romantic; the gourmet breakfast served on the finest china; and the lush, fragrant grounds are shaded by a 500-year-old oak tree. The innkeepers also have restored the historic home next door, which was used as an infirmary during the Civil War. Four of the guest rooms are housed here, complete with clawfoot or Jacuzzi tubs. Among the many influential guests of the past, the inn once hosted Jefferson Davis, and, ironically, the first owners used part of the home for the Underground Railroad.
