Apple Crisp
Description:
A yummy traditional Apple Crisp recipe that is excellent for breakfast with a substantial amount of eggs, country ham, and slices of cheddar cheese. Ingredients: Sliced granny smith apples to loosely fill a 9 x 13 pan (about 8 cups) 1/2 cup raisins 1 cup sugar 1 tablespoon flour 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 cup water 1/4 cup lemon juice 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg for crumble: 1 1/2 cup quick cooking oats 3/4 cup whole wheat flour 3/4 cup white flour 3/8 teaspoon baking powder 3/8 teaspoon baking soda 3/4 cup melted butter dash of ground clove 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg Directions: Directions: Combine all crumble ingredients in a small bowl and mix until forms small clumps. Sprinkle approximately 1/3 of the crumble mixture on the bottom of a well greased 9 x 13 glass baking dish. Fill pan with apples and sprinkle with raisins. In another bowl, combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg and sprinkle over apple mixture. Then evenly pour water and lemon juice over entire pan. Top with an even layer of remaining crumble mixture. Bake at 350 F for 45 minutes. Serves 9.
