Serve as an elegant fruit dish before breakfast. Ingredients: 1 sheet puff pastry (1/2 pkg) 1 apple (Granny Smith or Golden Delicious) Approx. 2 tsp flour Approx. 5 tsp sugar Approx. 1 Tbsp unsalted butter (cut in small pieces) Directions: Preheat oven to 400. Roll puff pastry to 1/8" thick. Cut four rectangles (3x6") or squares (5x5"). Place on cookie sheet (parchment paper helps). (Hold in freezer). Peel and slice apples very thinly (1/8"). Using slices from 1/2 apple for each pastry, lay overlapping slices on top of pastry, keeping 1/2" to 3/4" clear around edges. Sprinkle each pastry with about 3/4 tsp sugar and dot the top with small pieces of butter. Bake at 400 degrees for approx. 18-20 mins. or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and serve warm.
