Cinnamon Sour Cream Scones
Description:
Although our guests love these with cinnamon chips, I also like to make these with fruit bits or any combination of nuts, fruits, and chips. This is such a veratile recipe! These are so light and fluffy. Ingredients: 2 cups flour 1 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup margarine or butter, cut into small pieces 1 cup cinnamon chips 1 cup sour cream 1 eggs Directions: Preheat oven to 400˚. Put all dry ingredients except chips into a large mixing bowl and thoroughly mix together with your fingers or pastry blender. The mixture should have a mealy texture. Add chips to mixture. In a small bowl, combine sour cream and egg until blended. Make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients and pour egg mixture in. With a spoon, blend together until all dry ingredients are moist. The dough will be very sticky. Drop generous tablespoons of dough onto a greased cookie sheet. Space about 1 1/2 inches apart. Recipe Summary: Yield: 1 dozen scones Prep Time: About 10 minutes Cook Time: Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
