English Scones

Melt in your mouth buttery scones

8 ozs SR flour
2 ozs hard butter
1 tsp baking powder
pinch salt
1 Tbsp sugar
milk to mix

Sieve flour and baking powder and salt
Add chopped up butter
Rub in until resembles breadcrumbs very fine
add sugar and mix
add milk with a flat knife, until just mixed,
knead until comes together cut into 1 inch thick rounds with crinkle shaped cutter
put onto baking sheet and paste with beaten egg
cook at 425 top of stove for approx 11-13 mins ubtil risen and just golden brown
