Ginger is one of those smells that brings back the memories of a being a small child again. I grew up in a small town in Ohio during the 40's and the taste ginger cookies really brings back great memories. Ingredients: 3/4 c shorting 1 c brown sugar 1 egg 1/4 c molasses 2 1/4 c flour 2 tea soda 1/8 tea salt 1/2 tea ground cloves 1 tea cinnamon 1 tea ginger sugar Directions: Heat over to 375 degree Mix the shorting, brown sugar, egg, and molasses. Shift together the dry ingredients and add to the wet ingredients. Roll into balls the size of a walnut, roll in sugar. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Recipe Summary: Yield: 2 Dozen Prep Time: 10 min.
