Door County Cherry Muffins

Ingredients: 4 c. flour 2 c. sugar 2 tbsp. baking powder 1 tsp. cinnamon 3 c. frozen & rinsed Door County cherries 1 c. butter (melted) 1 c. milk 4 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla Topping: 1 c. flour 1/2 c. sugar 1/3 c. soft butter 1/2 tsp. cinnamon Directions: Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Combine dry ingredients and blend. In a separate bowl, toss 1 tbs. of dry ingredients with cherries. In a large bowl, mix butter, milk, eggs and vanilla. Then add dry ingredients and stir until well moistened. Stir in cherries. Spoon batter into muffin tins to about 3/4 full and sprinkle with topping mixture. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Makes about 2 dozen muffins.
