Lamb And Lion Award-winning Granola
Filed under: Breakfast, Breakfast - Cereal.
Description: The is the best granola you will ever overeat. Ingredients: 3/4 cup Firmly Packed Dark Brown Sugar 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter 1 teaspoon Fresh Nutmeg 1 teaspoon Cinnamon 6 cups Rolled Oats 1 1/2 cups Sliced Almonds 1/2 cup Dried Currants 1/2 cup Dried Cranberries 1/2 cup Raisins 1/2 cup Dried Banana Chips (broken into small pieces) Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine brown sugar, butter, nutmeg and cinnamon in a small saucepan and stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves into butter. No matter how tempted, do NOT stick your tongue into the mixture. In a large bowl combine oats and almonds with the sugar mixture and mix until well coated. Spread mixture on a baking sheet and bake in the middle of oven. Stir occasionally and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Use caution as granola will burn easily. Let granola cool, then toss with dried fruit, store in an air tight container (or eat it right out of the bowl like a feed bag…) Recipe Summary: Yield: never enough!
