Pancakes My Guests Love

Adding the delicious flavor of almonds to buttermilk pancakes sets the taste level higher

4 cups buttermilk pancake mix
3 cups water
1 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 cup sliced almonds

Stir together pancake mix, water and almond extract. Add more water if a thinner pancake is desired. Add almonds. Heat a griddle and oil griddle if necessary. Pour 1/3 cup batter onto hot griddle. Flip when bubbles appear on the surface. Brown on both sides. Serve with maple syrup heated with a few drops of almond extract. Makes 18 pancakes.
